Excellent discovery with super nice owners/chef. One of the best oyster po boys I’ve ever had. Oysters perfectly breaded and cooked ,delicious sauce. Very pleasant owner with a fascinating history. Try it, you’ll love it.

For what it is, a casual eatery on the water with locally caught seafood, this place gets top rating. Once upon a time I was a food snob, married to Mr. Money Bucks, and NEVER would have stopped here for a meal. Those days are over (Thank God) and thus I have left my “comfort”zone only to happily find COMFORT FOOD. The view really can’t be beat for such an unassuming place. When you go for the first time, ask what fish/shrimp is the freshest and order it just the way they make it. You’ll be delighted. Afterwards you can stroll to the gazebo on the water and practice gratitude. “I ate well today.”

Loved it! The food was a fresh delicious array of fried or steamed fish! The service was amazing! The atmosphere was very casual, the price wasnt bad, the seating was very accommodating. Definitely will be coming back!! :)

Ok I ordered a Tuna Shrimp combo. Tuna was about 2 Oz peace ? . Shrimp was good. My wife had fried flounder no much flavor. I think it was frozen . We paid almost $ 50 for a so so meal. No table service , Styrofoam plates...

Hard to find an open lunch spot in the off season in Nags Head. Took family to Sugar Shack. Great food, great service. The tuna bites with pineapple sauce is a must! Will definitely eat there again.

Fresh and delicious seafood prepared and served in a very friendly atmosphere. The owners were helpful and pleasant and asked on several occasions if we were enjoying our meals and if they could do anything. We saw numerous people who were finished and leaving compliment the owners on the food and saying that they would be back. We also plan to be back!
I was on a steamed seafood mission over our four days in Nags Head for a wedding recovery trip. The food and hospitality at sugar shack topped them all! Our first time trying she crab soup and loved it. The steamed shrimp, clams, and crab were so fresh and satisfying that I wanted the meal to last forever. I'm a sucker for joints that keep it simple and delicious, and it was a huge plus that the folks there were so friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed our banana pudding present :D definitely making this a go-to spot for our future trips to Nags Head!
