Really nice and historical restaurant to visit. Interesting building and decor. The food might not be that good but the experience was nice and the staff was friendly.

Soft Shell Crab special was amazing! The Sugar Creek Seafood Pasta w/ fire roasted pepper marinara was excellent as well. Dinner came w/ the best cornbread I've ever had, not something I would go out of my way to order but so glad it was included with the meals! Seasonal vegetable was a fresh cucumber, tomato and onion salad, very, very good!
Ordered food to go so waited at the bar and had excellent service from Cameron (I think I remembered his name correctly🤞🏻) He was so sweet and accommodating.
Restaurant atmosphere was very nice. Beautiful sound side sunset views, interesting decor and big gift shop.

Great location, but the location couldn't save the food. The clam chowder was cold, and tasted like bacon water. The scallops were seasoned with a LOT of lemon pepper and were just okay. The food was very over priced for what we got. We also overheard that the salad fridge was not "up to temp" by one of the servers, but they did not say the salad was unavailable, just that she wouldn't recommend it. Let's hope we make it through the night okay. It you are looking for great food at good prices, I would suggest going somewhere else
Steamed spiced shrimp were seasoned after they were steamed. Not much flavor to the shrimp.

My mom and I have been here 4 times and it is very hit or miss. And honestly, 3 out of the 4 times were a miss. The restaurant and service is nice, however, I think yesterday will be our last time going. We’re from Houston, so we know good food. The food is very bland, sometimes overcooked, varying temperatures and the drinks arent very tasty either. They also should invest in better sides, there is hardly any veggie options. The cornbread is a cute concept but it taste like cake. I think they just need better food execution because the environment is nice, but you don’t get your monies worth.

Unfortunately, two of my family members ended up with violent FOOD POISONING after eating dinner here yeaterday. Two additional family members ended up with stomach aches. Was a shame because we were here on vacation and had to pay an additional night for two rooms because we could not make the ride home. Fried shrimp and chicken were eaten.

We come here every year we visit OBX. And it never disappoints.
We had a party of 9 + 1 child. We were seated right away and had great service from our waitress. The food was delicious as always. The Hatteras chowder is not to be missed.
Should our waitress read this, apologies for my obnoxious brother in law. Everyone else thought your service was exceptional.

Every time we go to Sugar Creek I get coconut shrimp & my wife gets the 20 broiled shrimp. We both order cucumber salads & loaded baked potatoes. Once a year is not often enough.

My family has been going to OBX for 30 years and have never tried Sugar Creek. Our server Kaysi was attentive and perfect. The food was amazing and the view was spectacular. Everything from the drinks... Appetizers... And main dishes were amazing. Sugar Creek will become one of our regular restaurants. Highly recommend!
