Surfin' Spoon Frozen Yogurt Bar

came here a few weeks ago and had the WORST experience. I got a VEGAN ice cream that was completely dairy free and vegan with no cross contamination and had a severe allergic reaction (I am extremely allergic to dairy). Came back immediately and told them and they refused to refund me. The best they said they could offer me was a gift card for the exact amount of a small ice cream. Why would I want a gift card to the place that made my throat begin to close up? Absolutely horrific experience and would not recommend to any vegans or people with allergies!!!!!!!!!!

Great place to go for top notch yogurt with all the fixings.

Get here as early as you can as once the night hits, it's crowded - but it all makes sense as the FrYo is delicious and the atmosphere is on point. Don't forget to leave a donation on the wall, ceiling or anywhere as it's for a great cause. Friendly staff when we attended and very helpful. Very organized layout as well. You pay by the oz / weight. Enjoy!

The Surfin’ Spoon has become a tradition for our family when we visit OBX. Luckily, we made it in today (12/28) which is the last day of their season. The ice cream is so good but my favorite thing is their ice cream sandwich. Any flavor - you cannot go wrong. They have super friendly employees and really cute merch. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. We love it here!

Parking: Plenty of parking but in summer months, parking lot can be packed!

Kid-friendliness: Kids of all ages LOVE this place!

Wheelchair accessibility: They have a ramp from the parking lot into the building. Building is all one level and handicapped accessible.

SUCH a fun place! My boyfriend and I visited while on vacation in Kitty Hawk, and we're so glad we did. They have a great selection of flavors in frozen yogurts/gelatos. They also have a great toppings selection with something for everyone. We visited during Thanksgiving, and some seasonal flavors were available (the Apple Pie flavor was amazing!). The inside of this place is so neat, with lots of seating options and a cute interior house facade. The staff (and owner) are incredibly friendly and happy to help. I would highly recommend visiting with the family. Would highly recommend a visit to friends visiting OBX.

Parking: I can imagine in the summer that it could be difficult to find a parking spot, but they have a pretty large lot on site that can accommodate probably 20-25 cars.

Kid-friendliness: Although I do not have children, this place seems extremely kid friendly!

Love the staff, the ice cream, the toppings are amazing, the staff is friendly and the entire vibe of the place is chill and welcoming. The entire family gets stoked when it's time for Surfin Spoon. Grateful for this place. We all just a smile a bit more while here and on the ride home.

The spoon is our favorite stop for great frozen yogurt and a laid back "Jack Johnson" kind of atmosphere. Buy a shirt or hoodie while you're there.

I wanted to like this place but it seems highly overrated. I don't get all the rave reviews...apparently these people haven't had good ice cream before. This was mediocre with fancy window dressing.
