Visited during shoulder season. Nobody else inside. Counter person was friendly. Had the Spinach and Feta version of the Rip Curls. They were served PIPING hot, with two sauces on the side. VERY cheesy and tasty. Would've given 4 stars if they didn't serve the food (delivered to the table) with so much plastic: plastic utensils; ranch and marinara sauce each in a little plastic container, with plastic lids; single-use plastic cups for water. Certainly they have a dishwasher...
Stopped in for the pizza and thought the pizza was just average.
The crust was fine, crispy and tasty. The tomato sauce was too thick for my taste and did not taste homemade, the cheese was fine and I did like all the basil.

You don't come here for the atmosphere. You come for the food. The pizza here is perhaps the best in the OBX. I say "perhaps", because there are a lot of really good pizza places. So no ding on them. We have eaten them and yes, good. Yellow Submarine is excellent. Personal preference. I can't comment on the other menu items, but ordering the pizza and enjoying a beer at the bar while I wait for the pizza is pretty nice.
