This is the highest-rated breakfast and brunch spot in the area. Today was my 2nd visit. The staff was nice. But the food was such a letdown. Again, this is the 2nd visit and the same experience. My food was kinda warm - the gravy had already started to harden when it was placed in front of me. Not much flavor in anything I had. I ordered the ultimate biscuits and gravy. Black pepper and hot sauce can only do so much. My father rates their meatlovers omelet as his 2nd favorite (after Fat Fellas). The food photographs beautifully. Our total before tip was a little over $40 for two - on par with industry standards (I also asked for cheese in my eggs and a side of sausage links, so those were extra). I'll continue to bring visiting family here so that they form their own opinion and dine local vs. chain, but if it's just for me, I'll stick to a pastry from the counter.

We’ve been to Bakers twice now and can’t get enough. I had pancakes once and this time the French toast! They are both delicious. The butter syrup is not overly sweet. A little goes a long and tastes even better than it sounds. The staff are on it. Your glasses are kept full, napkins and plates are cleared almost immediately and everyone is polite. The dessert case is dangerous! Be ready to crave the cinnamon rolls all the time! Or the cinnamon crumb cake is another favorite. There is a bit of wait so call ahead, it’s worth the wait!

This place is busy for a reason. The food is excellent. Usually a wait on weekends, but once you get seated the service is excellent and the food arrives very quickly.Whatever you get add a fresh baked biscuit. I'd recommend the cheese biscuit.The Belgian waffles are fluffy and delicious. Don't miss this one if you're in the area.

Fantastic breakfast in a huge space though I had to walk upstairs for the bathroom since the lower one was closed. Great service that was timely and thoughtful. The pancakes were fluffy and tasted great. The syrup here is unique! I was a little unsure because it was so thick and sweet but once on the pancakes it was a great balance. The sausage and eggs were perfect, and the hash brown side was dense and rich. So much food! The coffee wasnt particularly impressive and cost $3.50...which would only be worthwhile if you drink at least two cups. A filling and hearty breakfast to start the day of walking around the city. The servers seemed very friendly and familiar with the regulars so that's a nice community feel.

We had a great breakfast here. Baker's has amazing food and even more amazing people serving. They are known for the syrup butter and so much more. I got an omelet and home fries. The family had pancakes and waffles. I can't say enough about how tasty the food was and how friendly the servers were
Ate here today while visiting New Bern as a family. Each of us had something that was very delicious! Biscuits and Gravy was really good. My older daughter had the french toast with butter syrup and said it was the best she ever ate, my younger daughter had the burger and fries and finished it all. My wife had the chicken salad sandwich with chips and raved about it. Everything was great and out waiter, Nate (I believe) gave great service. We highly recommend this place. Now if they could bag those homemade chips and sell them would be a plus!

Great food but the layout is cramped. Large foyer area with few spots to sit if waiting to be seated leaves you feeling awkward by not being in line to buy goods at the counter or standing out of that line and in the way of the servers or people trying to enter. If you manage to not be in their way then you're in the personal bubble of those sitting. Been through twice on a Saturday and it is booked, but the food is absolutely worth the wait and crowd. Food is amazing, you just feel a bit cramped at your table while eating it.
