“Where do I start with Kuma Sushi Bar in downtown New Bern?Let’s start with the amazing customer service that I am greeted with everytime I come in. The manager Geoffrey is very kind and will make sure you feel at home when dining in at Kuma. All of the servers are very well-spoken and kind when informing you on their menu, which is very well-made and unique for their location. The setting and tone of the restaurant is very subtle with various Japanese art pieces and displays that really plays into the aesthetic of the scenery. I’m going to revisit this wonderful establishment every chance I get.”

“There's almost always a wait but it's worth it. Check out the brisket burger and "frites," which are really just french fries but they're very good.I think the key to the brisket burger is bacon jam that they put on there. I've never gotten anything else one of going to this place because why I mess with a good thing?Asked them on my visit tonight about the bacon jam. They make it in house, but they will sell me some so I'm probably going to go back before I leave town and get some. Hopefully the TSA won't flag of as dangerous.”

“This place is a true gem! The lobster roll was very reasonably priced and delicious. My boyfriend loved the corned beef hash special they had for St.Patrick’s Day. Order the truffle fries, you won’t be disappointed! Friendly staff, beautiful decor, thankful to have this place in our town!”

Alyssa, the manager, showed up while I was eating to check up, and I couldn’t have any complaints! “I was a bit disappointed bc out of the entire menu they have a total of 3 things that are gluten free - smoked wings, cauliflower salad, and warm olives. The lemon pepper wings were extremely spicy but the garlic parm was excellent.My husband was very happy with his huge french dip pizza that was very reasonably priced.Dietary restrictions: only 3 menu items are gfWheelchair accessibility: Easily accessible”

“Came here for a date night . We had a nice time. Service and staff was great. The food was delicious. Just wish the portions were a bit bigger. Otherwise nice time.”

“Great food & atmosphere. Only bad part, ordered the pear salad, received Ceasar salad and told waitress who insisted it was the pear salad. So instead of raising a stink I just ate it, but when she came back around I told her it sure tasted like Caesar. When she brought the bill I half expected to be comped the salad, however was charged $14.00 for the Caesar salad which was small and an addition to a $32 meal! Also ordered a side of Brussel sprouts which showed as $8 on the menu, but was charged for the full price appetizer Brussel sprouts. I didn't notice all this because my elderly mom insisted on getting our meal, I noticed it on our receipt later when we got home. So my advice, double check you bill before paying.”

“I always use the app to order, the flavor was great, the only issues were the pizzas were a little over done, but I can live with that. It seems every time we order a pizza with the garlic parmasean sauce in place of tomato, they forget it, our one pizza had no sauce. Just thin crispy crust cheese and pepperoni, and no sauce”

“The food had big portions like the chicken fried rice. It also comes with not just a salad but a soup which is really good if you're still itching for food. My server was amazing, she had such an eccentric and fun personality and really enjoyed having her as my serving. I truly recommend going to sake and requesting either one of these 2 servers (May or Ree).”

“The overstuffed pulled pork sandwich was better than I expected, as were the french fries and cole slaw. The food was fresh and well-prepared. The portion of the cole slaw was a little small but it was a good complement to the BBQ, which was sweet style on the day I was there.”

“Food was great. Prices were reasonable. Atmosphere was fun. There were 3 of us and it wasn't busy yet food came up very sporadically. That was definitely the only small negative of the night otherwise we really enjoyed it and will definitely be back for meal and sporting events with their great TV set up!”
