we go there occasionally for dinner but last night we enjoyed a special five course, Irish themed meal. The food was, as always,, outstanding and the wait staff was excellent. We always enjoy sitting and looking at the river while we dine. Chef David is a masterful Chef! Say hello to Jessica, the restaurant manager, who is lovely and welcoming!

The Saltwater Grill in River Bend is a delightful place to dine. It has a lovely ambiance beside the water and a varied menu. The staff are congenial and eager to please. Even with large groups, the food is served quickly and efficiently. This restaurant is an asset to the community.

Based on the reviews, Saltwater Grill at River Bend is a hidden gem and one of the best places to eat in New Bern. The food is always fresh and delicious with great portions. The menu is expansive, and while it is not cheap, it is well worth it. Specific meals mentioned include the grilled Mahi-mahi, alligator bites, shrimp po’ boy, sweet potato fries (which are the best, possibly with brown sugar dust), a crab sandwich, coleslaw, calamari, caesars salad, and fish tacos made with grilled mahi. The atmosphere is very relaxed and great for all ages. Despite the restaurant sometimes being understaffed, the customer service is wonderful. The staff is simply wonderful, kind, relatable, and attentive, making guests feel right at home and very welcome.
