“My Fiancé and I had dinner here celebrating our 10th anniversary this past thursday. We showed up slightly early for our reservation, they took us immediately. Sat us in a private intimate booth towards the back of the dining room. We ordered a bottle of wine (Freakshow). presented perfectly by our server Anna. (hopefully i spelled it correctly) who was amazing! She described the daily features gracefully and gave us time to look over the menu. We ordered the shrimp and grits appetizer. The grits were amazing... local, water ground, silky and seasoned perfectly. The shrimp were cooked proper and super hot. and the brown butter bbq was unlike any traditional bbq..so much better. The Chef came out to meet with us and recommended the Wahoo Oscar feature. Which we ended up ordering along with the 14oz Ribeye. The Wahoo was fresh as could be and cooked perfectly. Tasted like the ocean. Topped with a generous portion of lobster, a beautiful satin bernaise and crispy tempura asparagus, served over wild rice. That dish SLAMMED. The ribeye was charred beautifully and cooked to a perfect medium rare. The mashed potatoes were perfectly seasoned and had a nice hint of sour cream. Management touched our table a few times and made us feel welcomed and well taken care of. Everything was perfect. Right down to the espresso creme brulee with chocolate covered espresso beans. Total experience was 11 out of 10. We can't wait to go back! Thank you for being awesome!“

“Good food, friendly staff and nice atmosphere. My husband and I went on Thursday night for dinner as we have many times in the past. My only complaint was everything was overly salted. We removed the breading from the calamari, his tuna didn't have much flavor only salty. My crabcakes were as good as always! Maybe they should cut back off on the salt, you can always add more at the table.“

“I think our server’s name was Adam—and if I’m wrong, I sincerely apologize—but whoever you are, you were hands down one of the best servers we’ve ever had.

We came in for my birthday with THREE kids (including a one-year-old and a peanut allergy in the mix), so… not exactly an easy table. And somehow you made it feel effortless. You were attentive to every single detail without hovering, warm without being over the top, and just genuinely kind in a way that you can’t fake.

You made sure my daughter was safe with her allergy, kept up with our chaos like a pro, and somehow still made the whole experience feel calm and enjoyable.

And then—without even knowing it was my birthday—you brought out complimentary ice cream for the kids. That moment meant more than you probably realized. It was the first time my nonverbal son signed “more” in ASL in a restaurant setting, and I will never forget that. He was so kind to celebrate that moment with us by bringing our kids complimentary ice cream and even brought out Pokemon cards for them! The kindness and attentiveness of Adam is unmatched.

Also—pimento cheese? Amazing. Skirt steak? Unreal. But the service is what made the night.

When we found out you were only in your first TWO WEEKS of training, I was honestly shocked. You have a natural instinct for this, and it shows.

Thank you for taking such good care of our family. Truly. You made my birthday feel special in a way that had nothing to do with attention on me—and everything to do with how you treated my kids.

If this is Adam—thank you. If it’s not Adam—please make sure he sees this. You’re really, really good at what you. We dined there two days ago and my kids are still talking about you. Not the service. Not the food. You!! We’ll be requesting Adam to be our server and rearranging our own date nights around Adam’s work schedule!

Everyone knows Cypress Hall’s food and atmosphere is above average in every way. But Adam just took our whole experience to another level. I really hope that management/ownership is celebrating this new hire and realize what they have with him on their team!!“

“No ambiance whats so ever if you get the regular table. Ordered a hibachi shrimp and hibachi chicken. Shrimp did not taste fresh and chicken was bland. Rice was also not good.

Sushi was below average. For the price that they are asking none of it is worth it.

The hibachi room seems to be the reason why people come here because other than that its dead.

I have visted plenty of hibachi's and this is the bottom of the bottom. Never coming back“

“The prices are very good for the overall quality of the sushi and other plates. Despite it being a small restaurant there is hardly a wait during peak hours. The food comes out a reasonable amount of time. So id recommend this spot for a 2 hour lunch break or dinner plans.“

“I have eating at Sara's since she opened. He menu is one of the largest if not the largest menu in New Bern. everything I have ever eaten at Sara's is delicious. The meatballs are large and delicious, and I love the marinara sauce. Service is always good with a smile. and I don't know of another restaurant that earned 100% from the NC Health Department.“

“Ate here with a dear friend yesterday. Food was delicious! I got the steak hibachi. My friend got the steak and chicken hibachi. Both were fresh, hot, and delicious! Gyoza was also ordered. What a delicious appetizer! Never had them before, but I'll definitely have them again! The restaurant was clean and the drink station was well stocked. Simple dining area. Plenty of parking available. The restaurant is very close to Hobby Lobby and Academy Sports.“

“Went here for takeout and ended up eating at the place bc we were too hungry to wait to get home. The food was DELICIOUS, easily some of the best Chinese I've ever had. We loved the steamed dumplings and the meat/seafood was delicious as well as the sauces. The food was cooked quickly and the woman taking our order was patient and helpful. “Wife thought the Hibachi style shrimp & steak was very good, and loved the white sauce for dipping.....the perfect delicate fried soft-shell crabs as an appetizer. While my Chicken Pad Thai was tasty, it lacked any spicy edge whatsoever and had minimal peanuts and no veg at all. So many ways to assemble pad thai and this wasn't nearly zippy or complete enough for my taste. Not bad, just not my preference. this was our first but will not be our last visit.“

On this occasion it was a Saturday night within an hour of their closing ,You know some places when you show up in that last hour you get that we're getting ready to close service and food, not here! Our server Leslie was amazing, she treated us like we were the first customer of the day, in no way did we feel the slightest bit rushed. Good food, good prices, and good service. “Maybe a bit of misunderstanding in the beginning but I got the beef and broccoli with crab Rangoon’s. The pork fried rice is the best I’ve had . And as far as the beef and broccoli most places give you 3-4 pieces of broccoli with super sweet sauce but not this place . The sauce is perfect and plenty of broccoli. Very good , thank you“

“It has been a year since we last ate here. We refused to eat at a restaurant where they charge you 50 cents for a tiny side of salsa. That is poor customer service. We decided to try them again, and again was extra charged for items and a lack of willingness to compensate for a server’s error in taking the order! Tiffany charged $3 for toast on my wife’s order, even after we said that my wife would instead just eat the toast which came with my order as I wanted a waffle. Once it was brought to their attention, they still refused to take off the extra $3 charge. These smoke and mirrors tactics to make sales is bad form and poor business practice.“
