“I have eaten at Morgan's Tavern and Grill several times since I discovered this "Gem" a few years back. I have always had great food, great service and they do a great job with the atmosphere. It looked great at Christmas. Each time we go there is a wait, usually a good sign of a great spot to eat. Patience is a virtue that I have and waiting an hour during peak times is still worth it. If you want quick service go to McDonalds, because Morgan's "food" does not hang out in a warmer, everything we get is fresh and hot. My favorites, fried shrimp, fried portabellas, fried oysters as an app, shrimp tacos, Ahi Tuna, have not had a bad salad yet and the honey covered hot croissants they start you with... worth the wait just that!Looking forward to our next visit already!I am a picky person with 30 years in F&B management and this place is consistent and clean. Posting at 99 health grade! Prior to that 95.5.If I had any feedback the bath rooms need an upgrade, and new towel dispensers, it is the only comment my wife and I shared negative after leaving after saying we were glad we returned again.“

“What an incredible restaurant! I never go to New Bern without having a meal at Cypress Hall. The food is top-notch, the environment is so welcoming, and the staff is very kind. Kayla is a fantastic waitress who will take care of your table so well. Chef Daniel is a mastermind in that kitchen and your food will be more delicious than you can imagine. Highly recommend.“

“We came on a Sunday afternoon and the wait was not bad - about 10-15 minutes. We sat outside on this beautiful sunny 74 degree day. Our waitress quickly came out to greet us & take our drink orders. She was so sweet and friendly, especially to our little baby boy who was curiously looking around.We ordered and maybe 15 min later our food came out. Wow! Everything we tried was so good. I got the Soft Shell Crab BLT Sandwich, my husband got the Grouper Fish & Chips, & we ordered a side of the cheese grits for our son. My sandwich was everything I had hoped it would be - the crab was fried perfectly and the bun was soft and fresh. My husband’s Grouper Fish & Chips were lightly battered but not overly crunchy (in a good way!). But the surprising star? The cheese grits. What in the world are they made with? I usually don’t like grits, but my son is 8 months and needed something to snack on. They were so good I was stealing it from him. I’m left looking up cheese grits recipes and am sure to be thinking about them the rest of the week.If you’ve never been you have to give it a try. You’ll definitely regret it if not.“

“We were recommended this place by someone at a barber shop and he knew what he was talking about because it was GREAT! My husband had the asada/chorizo tacos with beans and rice while I had the same just without chorizo. The tacos were the BEST tacos I’ve actually ever had! Meat was seasoned and cooked to perfection, the tortilla had a nice subtle crisp, it came with onions and cilantro (with options to add extras) and they have some amazing verde sauce served bar style in the seating area! This will be a must stop each time we’re up in New Bern, I already cannot wait to visit again!! There’s indoor and outdoor seating, card is accepted and yes to handicap parking spaces.“

“With all the great reviews, I took a relative for an early dinner. The best cheese sticks I have ever eaten and the garlic knots were good, but don't fill up on the appetizers. I had the Stromboli, which was massive. Ended up taking half home and my relative had the basic spaghetti and meatballs, saying they were best meatballs she's had in years. The location is a little out west in River Bend in the only strip shopping center, but worth the drive.“

“This place was really good! My husband said it was the best sweet & sour of his life and while there are not many gf options the shrimp pad thai was worth the trip. We will definitely be coming back! Even though they were very busy the service of everything was prompt.

“Tonight was our 2nd visit here and both our visits have been great! This is a busy place but service is exceptional. Tonight, Chris, apologized they could not be as attentive as usual because they were busier than usual for a Sunday night…. However, we considered the service tonight better/more attentive than at traditional restaurants. Customer service seems harder and harder to come by, but you will find it plentiful here. Side note- the burgers are absolutely delicious.“

“China king never disappoints! They are a friendly family owned business with authentic cuisine. The dinner combo plates are a fantastic deal with enough food to save for lunch the next day. Combos come with an egg roll and you can get noodles or fried rice with them. I love that I can call in my order and have my food in 15 minutes.

“We are also new to Fairfield and needed dinner tonight in a pinch! We were happily surprised and relieved that we have our “go-to” place for take out! Burgers were better than usual with a toasted finish to them and the steak and cheese sandwich was amazingly good! All this and 5 minutes away. Plenty of staff that were friendly! “Met an out of town friend for a beer here. This joint was halfway between us ... what a great find! Small friendly joint with a tasty selection of their own brews and great selection of micro-brews from different breweries. Try their Irish Stout, clearly they know what they are doing. Local brew club started their meeting while we were getting ready to go get some food. Nothing but great notes from this group.Great place to sit down on a Sunday afternoon for a drink with friends and enjoy some great brew. “It's domino's at the end of the day but I will say this location tries its best. We've had multiple order mishaps and the manager is always quick to try and correct the order by either remaking it entirely or including extras like drinks or deserts. All in all they've earned our loyalty and the customer service is top notch“

“We had a lovely lunch at Lawson’s while visiting New Bern for Memorial weekend. It was a new spot for us and we were so glad we tried it out. We sat outside for a great view of the river and although it was a hot day the breeze kept us cool. We all had delicious pineapple mimosas….the pour was generous and just a touch of pineapple made the mimosa special but not too sweet. For lunch I had the sour cream and dill potatoes which were tasty, the perfect portion size, and at $4 a steal. The whole menu is varied and appetizing so I know we will be back to try more. We really enjoyed meeting the new manager, Megan. She was knowledgeable and so friendly. I know Lawson’s will thrive with her leadership. There are many great spots in New Bern but Lawson’s is now at the top of our list.“

Parking: It’s very busy, so while theres quite a bit of parking, you may have to park slightly further from the restaurant (by the hallmark store) and walk 20 yards further.

Kid-friendliness: Whole kids hibachi menu, our hibachi chef was very interactive and fun with the kids as well as the adults.

“Food was delicious. Waitress didn’t understand us 50% of the time. We asked for no lemon, got lemon, my sister and I wanted two separate plates of food and got one to split, we got a plate with chicken even though no one ordered chicken. We tried the Morehead rolls and they were amazing.“

“I drove out from Ft Liberty for the Tryon Palace Christmas tour. Looked downtown. Nothing looked good and it was overpriced and all were crowed. La Rosa’s was on the way out of town. They had been busy all day and it was evident the waitstaff was beat. Service was great. Food was even better. My party ordered the chicken parm (bussin), the fruitti de mar (straight fire), the Alfredo with shrimp ( best ever) , chicken Marsala, (delish) , portabello ravioli (OMG), and the crab cakes. I had the crabs cakes. I grew up in Baltimore MD. I know good crab cakes. These are not Maryland Crab Cakes. I loved them. I got a side of penne with fresh tomatoes sauce onit. It is chopped tomatoes in olive oil. WOW! The salads and soups were Amazeballs. Bread was fresh.Don’t judge this book by its cover. This place doesn’t waste resources on making it self look too fancy. It focuses on giving you amazing food. It was perfect. Not pretentious. Will make the trip back to New Bern just to eat here again. 13/10 recommend.“

I don't usually look forward to lunch meetings because restaurants tend to be noisy, and servers can interrupt the flow of the presentation/meeting. My time at La Casetta was by far my best lunch meeting to date!The staff gave us a private room. And Olivia made sure to take our drink and lunch orders before we started our meeting.
