“I've been enjoying Frank's Pizza since I was a kid and it was located at Washington Square Mall! The staff is amazing as is the food! The pizza and calzones are always a winner! The pasta is delicious as well as their variety of appetizers! My family loves the fried ravioli and the stuffed mushrooms the most! Such a great place to eat and a Washington landmark!“

“My Auntie and I went to "Little Washington" to visit our Aunt, who is in a nursing facility. While visiting were extremely hungry. We drive around looking for seafood. I finally pulled over and googled restaurants in the area. Lo and behold, we found Backwater Jacks & decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. Friendly employees, good service, food was on the table within 15 minutes. Shrimp basket with fries. Yummy to our tummies. Food was freshly cooked and piping hot, just like I like it. I/we will definitely revisit there again. Indoor & outdoor seating. Perfect view of the river across the street. Nice atmosphere. I definitely recommend!Parking: We parked in front of the restaurant very close to the entrance. Even if we did have to walk a little it would have been fine because it's on the waterfront“
“I live in Raleigh but like to visit Little Washington a few times a year. The Hackney has been on my "to-eat" list, and I finally made it there. I am so glad that I did. It is an Autumn approved restaurant. The historic building is beautiful & was restored very nicely. The space has great energy. I loved the music that they were playing & the big windows. The food was delish! I had the fish & chips. The tartare hollandaise was amazing. I am still thinking about it days later. For dessert, I had vanilla creme brulee which is one of my favorites. It was very well done. I had the New Year, New Mule cocktail to go with it. The cocktail was so tasty. I didn't think that I was really a gin fan, but I would totally order that drink again. After my meal, Chef Davis came out to ask me how everything was & chatted with me for a few minutes. That was classy & made my day. He is good people.I will definitely be going back to The Hackney for a second visit. I love supporting local establishments that excel at what they do. I will encourage others to visit as well.Parking: There is street parking right out front, or there is a parking lot a few blocks away. Both are free.Kid-friendliness: I love kids but wouldn't bring them here. This is a grown up experience.“

“One of my top 3 Best places to get southern country food and a great price. I just moved to Washington NC lil over 2 months now and I've ate there over a dozen times if that tells u anything. I usually eat out between 1-2 times a week most weeks. They have great chicken, bbq, Lima beans, onion rings are big and cooked perfectly and I've never had corn nuggets before I thought it be like corn pudding but in balls and I was right they are delicious. Just ask for the bigger ones so more stuff inside bc lil ones the corn inside is hard and not as good but that's my only complaint. And one other halfway complaint is the app to download so I can get 10 percent I believe off ur first online order well my phone won't let me download it. It said it was too old of a system or not compatible with mine well something like that so Im not able to take advantage of that savings or able to order food Thur the app which sux for me bc I do a lot through my phone. It would be nice if they were able to get it were more types of phones could download the app and probably get more business that way to especially when I go there bc I spend anywhere from 10 to 45 dollars in there each time and not bc it's high priced either bc I get alot of different things for family of three to eat. This is definitely a place I would highly recommend u get food to go from here, Kings Chicken.Parking: Good number of spots and u usually don't have to wait too long to get yr food so parking lot doesn't tend to get backed up, in my opinion the couple dozen times I've been there in last 2 months.Kid-friendliness: I would say yes definitely kid friendly. My child and I love going in there and they always speak to her and try to put a smile on her face. I have Never had a bad experience with anyone working there. They have always treated me with respect and my daughter and told me that if I did x, y or z that it would be cheaper than the way I ordered it. And even walked out to help me out to the car bc had both hands full and my child with me and wanted to make sure I got to the SUV and didn't drop my food and helped my baby in my SUV. Now that's customer service to the highest standard. So check ✔️ this place out. It's not a place to sit in and eat it's All Orders are To Go but I won't find better.“

“Stopped in for dinner based on other reviews and info. This place did not disappoint. I had the fried shrimp and fried catfish combo dinner with fries and corn on the cob as sides. My husband had the catfish sandwich and corn on the cob. Everything was piping hot and delicious. The remoulade sauce was perfection. Service was prompt and with a smile. A girl came through the diner several times to make sure everyone had what they needed at each table. We went on a Friday evening at 545pm and didn't have a long wait. We compared this place to our favorite hole-in-the-wall restaurant near Biloxi, MS, and that's a compliment!Parking: dirt and rocks with ample space until they get super busy. We had no issues on an early Friday evening.“

“I only go from 11-2:30 or 4-7. I LOVE the food especially the fried chicken wings. The salad bar is not big but does have the essentials that are ALWAYS fresh. Everybody that works there are super nice. Everything looks clean. My favorites are the fried chicken wings, egg-drop soup, salads, roast pork, and gun-fire chicken! They have a cold bar too that has fruit and desserts. There are always 3-4 kinds of soup. I've tried everything though and NEVER been disappointed. Not very expensive and worth the drive to Chocowinity.“

“When you think of true southern, honey this is it. When you walk in you get hugged by the environment. Food is consistently good, wait and kitchen staff are always on it- the comments about the wait time: there can be a little bit of wait some days, but nothing different from other establishments and most days there truly isn’t much of one. We have brunch a few days a week there and each time is a great experience.“
