6 Best Seafood Restaurants in Washington

“I live in Raleigh but like to visit Little Washington a few times a year. The Hackney has been on my "to-eat" list, and I finally made it there. I am so glad that I did. It is an Autumn approved restaurant.The historic building is beautiful & was restored very nicely. The space has great energy. I loved the music that they were playing & the big windows.The food was delish! I had the fish & chips. The tartare hollandaise was amazing. I am still thinking about it days later. For dessert, I had vanilla creme brulee which is one of my favorites. It was very well done. I had the New Year, New Mule cocktail to go with it. The cocktail was so tasty. I didn't think that I was really a gin fan, but I would totally order that drink again.After my meal, Chef Davis came out to ask me how everything was & chatted with me for a few minutes. That was classy & made my day. He is good people.I will definitely be going back to The Hackney for a second visit. I love supporting local establishments that excel at what they do. I will encourage others to visit as well.Parking: There is street parking right out front, or there is a parking lot a few blocks away. Both are free.Kid-friendliness: I love kids but wouldn't bring them here. This is a grown up experience.“

“This is my seafood market now! Great prices. Snow crab legs were huge and grouper was so delicious fried in their Atkinson’s Seafood seasoning I bought from there. I’d give more stars if was available. Don’t wipe out my supply from this Review. I’ll be going back shortly“

“My Auntie and I went to "Little Washington" to visit our Aunt, who is in a nursing facility. While visiting were extremely hungry. We drive around looking for seafood. I finally pulled over and googled restaurants in the area. Lo and behold, we found Backwater Jacks & decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. Friendly employees, good service, food was on the table within 15 minutes. Shrimp basket with fries. Yummy to our tummies. Food was freshly cooked and piping hot, just like I like it. I/we will definitely revisit there again. Indoor & outdoor seating. Perfect view of the river across the street. Nice atmosphere. I definitely recommend!Parking: We parked in front of the restaurant very close to the entrance. Even if we did have to walk a little it would have been fine because it's on the waterfront“

“Marabella was recommended to me both at my hotel and by the locals in town so that is where I went for my Italian dinner. They have been in business for 40 years so that speaks to the quality too. they started in Brooklyn but are now in Washington. Marabella's has its own parking lot and a drive thru as well. Although I am not sure if it is just to pick up orders already placed or if you can order at the drive thru. But either way that would be a convenient way to pick up dinner. I dined here earlier than I'd normally eat dinner as I didn't want to miss the NC State game. I was seated in the enclosed outside dining room. I'm not sure if it is just a sun room or if it opens in warmer weather. Marabella has fresh ingredients and makes their own dough and sauces. I had already looked at the menu so knew what I was going to order as I needed some comfort food as I was in pain from my broken finger. But I was given time to look over the menu which I liked and almost went with the scampi. Warm bread and oil was brought out while I looked through the extensive menu. Another table near me ordered a pizza and after hearing the reaction to that pizza I knew I needed to try that too. So I ended up with the fettuccine alfredo as my comfort dish and then ordered a white pizza so more cheese and olive oil and garlic. I was extremely pleased with their sauce. It was the perfect creaminess and not too heavy. The portion was large too and I almost managed to eat it all as it was so good. The pizza was fantastic as well and some of the best I've had. I only had a slice or two hot from the oven but the leftovers were just as tasty. It was cooked perfectly and all the cheese just melted so good. When it was time to pay, and they take the credit cards at the table, I was told my meals had been taken care of by someone. I'm not sure who did this random act of kindness or pay it forward but I appreciated their kindness. I'm usually the one who does the RAOKs so it was heartwarming to be on the other end of it. I wish I lived closer to Marabella so might have to plan another trip just to eat here again. It is worth the drive.“
