“We’ve been to Bakers twice now and can’t get enough. I had pancakes once and this time the French toast! They are both delicious. The butter syrup is not overly sweet. A little goes a long and tastes even better than it sounds. The staff are on it. Your glasses are kept full, napkins and plates are cleared almost immediately and everyone is polite. The dessert case is dangerous! Be ready to crave the cinnamon rolls all the time! Or the cinnamon crumb cake is another favorite. There is a bit of wait so call ahead, it’s worth the wait!“
“Local restaurant with upscale fare and comfortable atmosphere. Shrimp and grits is a specialty, but if you can't do shrimp, get your grits fix with the Brown Butter Chicken. The Horseradish Salmon is also excellent. Don't wait for dinner...head in for lunch and beat the rush. Or, stop in for an afternoon break and order dessert. Living in luxury!“
“There's almost always a wait but it's worth it. Check out the brisket burger and "frites," which are really just french fries but they're very good.I think the key to the brisket burger is bacon jam that they put on there. I've never gotten anything else one of going to this place because why I mess with a good thing?Asked them on my visit tonight about the bacon jam. They make it in house, but they will sell me some so I'm probably going to go back before I leave town and get some. Hopefully the TSA won't flag of as dangerous.“
“This was such good food.. not only that but the hospitality of the staff and the friendliness of each person there! Thank you for being open on Easter so my family could enjoy a great meal! We live very close so we will be back! Happy ressurection Sunday! He is risen!“
“My wife and I have been here multiple times before. Out go to order is : fried calamari, raw oysters, and 2 po boys. The raw oysters come out ice cold and fresh no fishy smell, the calamari is very well cooked and delicious, The po boys come on an amazingly baked bun and the sauce just ads so much dimension to the sea food. They never disappoint if you sit outside the service might not be the best though. I’ve honestly never actually had any problems here, 100% would recommend to anyone.“
“A Gem in Small Town Dining Rating: Review: Spunky McDoogle's is a hidden culinary gem nestled in the heart of our small town. From the moment I stepped in, I was enveloped in warmth and hospitality. The food? Utterly delicious and surprisingly affordable! My appetite was filled with joy, especially over their patty melt, crispy onion rings, and succulent French Dip. But it wasn't just the food that stole the show; the service was unparalleled. The staff were not only efficient but also incredibly kind and personable. It felt like dining with old friends. The ambiance exudes a charming small-town vibe, creating the perfect backdrop for a memorable meal. Whether you're a local, a regular, or a first-timer, you'll feel right at home here. Plus, the variety of seating options adds a nice touch, allowing you to choose your preferred dining experience. If you're craving delicious food, great service, and a cozy atmosphere, look no further than Spunky McDoogle's. It's a true local gem that I recommend to everyone.“
“March 2024. Food menu was just updated and I have to say there are a lot of good updates. I had the pork stickers and Surf and Turf. All had great flavor and were cooked perfectly. Been coming here for a couple of years now and still enjoy it!“
“Attitudes is a local bar with great food & there's a reason for the name. If you go in with that in mind you'll have an incredible time! Been going for 15 years and always a great meal, great drinks& great time. And if you like cakes.... ooooooooolala shop yummy“
“Group of 6. Delicious fresh sandwiches. The tots were ok and could have been cooked a little more. Different to have them flattened. But overall everything was delicious! The server had problems with his tablet working today, and it took his quite a while to check us out, but these things happen. We were not in a rush since it's Sunday. Overall everything was delicious!“
“Beartown Bistro has yet to disappoint me. The ambience is great, the owner an amazing woman, and they have 5 new food specials every week. That's impressive. Always fresh, new choices. Never hum drum. Did I mention they have a full bar as well?????? Rumor has it, the ladies at Mosquito Hunters eat there all the time too. That's a sure sign the food is great!“
“Well, my coworker actually bought coffee from next door and it was cold. I accidentally walked into this restaurant and asked for a new cup and, even though we eventually realized that I was in the wrong store, they gave me a nice hot cup of coffee. I insisted on paying, but they were incredibly kind to offer me a free cup. Great place.“
“First time here and it was amazing. Bar staff were very friendly and took great care of us. Burgers were cooked perfectly and were nice and juicy. Fries were crisp and tastes great. The margaritas were so good that I ordered a second one. Very relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. Will definitely be back soon.“
“Tonight was our 2nd visit here and both our visits have been great! This is a busy place but service is exceptional. Tonight, Chris, apologized they could not be as attentive as usual because they were busier than usual for a Sunday night…. However, we considered the service tonight better/more attentive than at traditional restaurants. Customer service seems harder and harder to come by, but you will find it plentiful here. Side note- the burgers are absolutely delicious.“
“Carolina Bagel is amazing! Their food is so good and the service is always friendly. The location is convenient, but parking can be difficult during busy times, as the lot is small, but the little bit of inconvenience is totally worth it.Parking: Follow the parking signs for the lot when things are busy. Going the wrong way can cause even worse congestionKid-friendliness: They have high chairs and the environment is just noisy enough that kids don’t seem loud or out of place.“
“We had a party of seven for birthday celebrations and we had reservations at 5:30 and got in right away and got served right away. The food was very delicious and the prices are very reasonable. The workers were very pleasant and helpful when we requested something extra. Had a great time being there and enjoyed the meal thoroughly.Parking: They are always very busy but we always have been able to find a spot to park.“
“My husband is from New Bern and every time we come to town for a visit we stop by and enjoy the food here at Smithfield’s Chicken N BBQ. I’m from Texas so I’m not used to BBQ without actual BBQ but the vinegar based BBQ is very popular in this area. The portions are big (2 of the 3 of us had leftovers to take with us). Place was clean and employees were friendly. Food tasted great as well (which is why we come in every time we’re in town). Definitely recommend stopping by if you’re in the area. They also have Chicken Tenders and Popcorn Shrimp if you don’t want BBQ. I DO SUGGEST TRYING THE BRUNSWICK STEW! It was a favorite for our group.Kid-friendliness: Place is kid friendly.Wheelchair accessibility: Theres handicap parking, ramp for easy entrance and plenty of places to sit inside that are wheelchair accessible.“
“Quaint diner type of restaurant. I had biscuits and gravy and the biscuit didn't appear as pictured in their advertising. It was flavorful but not something I would order again. My partner had eggs Benedict, which I usually love but appearance of his meal left much to be desired.Staff was helpful and Friendly.“
“RUN…don’t walk…to TapThat and get these Tuna Tacos!! I’m also pretty sure they put crack into the smoked ketchup because I wanted to drink it.The atmosphere, wait staff, bar staff were amazing… the chef was even walking around chatting with tables!Trivia with Will was awesome too!!“
“My dinner party of five had an exceptional time at Annabelle's this evening. Our server proved to have an idetic memory. There were no mistakes with the orders. The appetizers and entrees were magnificent. Thank you to our waitress, whomever you are. To the chef, the Chicken Florentine was the best I've ever tasted. ?“
“The food was fantastic! The young man who took our order was very polite. My only complaint is that we were not given our gallon of sweet tea that came with our family meal and we didn't realize it until we were too far away to go back. Other than that, great!“
“I've heard about this place for almost 10 years and never eaten here till last night. Had the fried dill pickle chips, ribeye (medium), and an old fashioned with Angel's Envy bourbon. Our server was excellent and all four of us had no complaints or concerns about our food. It is a little pricey but that is the best ribeye I've had on the crystal coast.“
“Overall we've enjoyed every meal we've had at The Pointe. New leadership was implemented a few months ago and they are doing an outstanding job by offering weekly specials, keeping the menu manageable for their size and their staff. The quality of the selections we've enjoyed is outstanding. The staff is friendly, attentive and the service gets better every time we visit. A great neighborhood restaurant that's working very hard to earn the community support and respect.“
“Tammy our server did a fantastic job. Wether the dining room is full or slow she is very hard working waitress we always know we will be serve well when we see her.We both ordered fried grouper and it was prepared to perfection. Our compliment to the entire staff specially the chef.“
“Great food & atmosphere. Only bad part, ordered the pear salad, received Ceasar salad and told waitress who insisted it was the pear salad. So instead of raising a stink I just ate it, but when she came back around I told her it sure tasted like Caesar. When she brought the bill I half expected to be comped the salad, however was charged $14.00 for the Caesar salad which was small and an addition to a $32 meal! Also ordered a side of Brussel sprouts which showed as $8 on the menu, but was charged for the full price appetizer Brussel sprouts. I didn't notice all this because my elderly mom insisted on getting our meal, I noticed it on our receipt later when we got home. So my advice, double check you bill before paying.“
“My eggs, bacon & hash browns were perfectly prepared and served by two outstanding young men - Marcus & Mottee who are truly Waffle House pros. Pristinely cleaned restaurant, amazing food quality, and service. Fantastic job, Waffle House #1369 - you've got an awesome crew in these two!“
“Me and my son wanted to enjoy downtown with our dog and then got hungry for lunch. We've heard there's a few restaurants that are pet friendly or you can eat on the patios with your pet. Then we walked by this place and it is amazing! It has a beautiful outdoor covered patio that is absolutely dog friendly and they even have a dog menu with dessert! We ordered the Portobello chips for an appetizer, the Big Daddy's shrimp roll and the char-crusted salmon. Our pup got a burger, broccoli and mashed potatoes. Our waitress Marilyn was more than inviting and very friendly to us and our pup and very knowledgeable about the menu. When we started to wrap everything up she asked if we wanted dessert and I didn't know they had a dessert menu. She said she'll be right back. And brought out a tray of six over the top, deliciously looking dessert options. She explained to us what each were and which were her favorites or most popular and why. So of course we had to order dessert for us and the pup! It was such an amazing experience and to be able to enjoy lunch with our dog to that extent was something we had never experienced before out in public. This is definitely one of our favorite spots in New Bern... No it is our favorite! And we can't wait to go back!! Thank you guys for being such an incredible establishment and having such great staff!“
