Ghent Sandwich Shop, a Family Diner

The fare was simple but good.

Great country cooking and a feeling of belonging there when you walk in the door!

We went here for lunch today & the food was mediocre at best. The host was more interested in her phone than in helping customers. Not sure we will be returning.

Limited, but still out of several menu items.

My breakfast was so yummy! You get a good amount of food for the price! Highly recommend for a good breakfast in New Bern

LOVE Ghent Sandwich Shop! The food is always fast and fresh, the staff as sweet as their iced tea, and great prices. A great casual place for a quick lunch like mamaw would make!

Great Breakfast. Occasionally have the hamburger plate during the fundraisers... YUM!

I have gone to this restaurant for two things for at least 30 years. The last year I inquired several times about the pricing behind the scenes. You cannot get a straight answer from them on what they charge. The owner Greg has coded something into his system (employee told me) that automatically adds a percentage to the bill. I have asked how much because nothing was posted. Now after reading a few articles I’ve learned that debit cards should never be charged. I mentioned this to the owner and since I have tried in the past to get an answer he told me not come into his store again. Why because he’s hiding something or doing something he doesn’t want us to know? I try to use locally owned stores when possible. There are regulations and laws to protect us consumers. He need to be inspected. Now he has threatened me with a slander charge for asking questions.

Had a delicious lunch and the service was wonderful!! The staff and owners are super friendly and I highly recommend dining with them. I’ll definitely be back!!

A nice place to dine-in. The prices are agreeable, it has a quaint, slight rustic aesthetic, excellent table service, and a more than acceptable, sanitary environment. The food is nothing spectacular, however it is still appetizing.
