Half Time Pub & Grub

I usually love our trips to Halftime. Today however, I think maybe that we're having a bad day. Everything we ordered as a party of 4 was not enjoyable. Our server was doing the best they could and I feel if she had adequate support service would have been better, although that does not count for the subpar quality of food that we received from the kitchen. I don't typically leave bad reviews but today was not a good experience. It will be a long time before we return if ever.

Waited over hour and a half for food no refills on drinks the 2 hours I was here and they weren’t that busy. They ran out of hamburger too go figure. DO NOT RECOMMEND

Went in at 12:15 pm on a Saturday. Only one waitress waiting the entire dining room. Easily 15+ tables. We ordered food and drinks at same time. Took 15 minutes to get drinks, then 45 minutes to get food. Once our food was delivered our waitress never came back. We had to get up and ask for check and then follow her around to pay. Multiple tables had to do the same. I wish I could say it isn’t like this all the time, but it is. Need more waitressing staff.

We have been going to Half Time for years on Tuesday nights with a large group for their boneless wings. As of recently, apparently they have either changed cooks or supplies as the boneless wings have in my opinion and our groups'; have deteriorated. They now are more like frozen patties with an overbearing bread crumb coating and the Asian Bourbon sauce is not the same. The originals were more like tender chicken strips. They are still tasty, but nowhere near what the original ones were. Now with the change, we will no longer be going. We were able to tolerate the overbearing loud drunk crowd that accumulates around 5:00 p.m. with their yelling and shouting to enjoy the delicious boneless wings. But without the former great wings, we will avoid Half Time now because of the crowd. All the food has always been excellent, but we did go specifically for the boneless wings. If they reverted to their former recipe for the wings at a higher price, we would return. I would have attached photos but the system would not permit me to do so.

Been constant customers for years. Sadly the past few times my father and I have been by and sat at a booth waiting staff had walked by us numerous times. We once had to walk up to the bar and ask to be seen/waited on and this was on a slow day. This isn't just a once off occurrence. The only way to even get served drinks or food is to sit at the bar.

Today we went in and sat at a booth a waitress looked at us and never once came to get our drink order or food order. We eneded up leaving after not being waited on for roughly half an hour.

Service has really declined over the past few months. My husband and I went here frequently, and the past few times we've been wait times have been ridiculous, we get the order to go and it's been wrong, forgotten sauces, or just doesn't look good.

I ordered the cowboy burger well done and it was still pink and the Texas toast was very burnt. I had the steamed broccoli for the side and it was flavorless and cold. The server never came to ask if I wanted another drink. My daughter's brisket burger was ok but her sweet potato fries were burnt. The music was great!

Good boneless wings, delicious chicken bacon ranch sandwich, cold beer and a great atmosphere. Prices were very reasonable also. First time going but won’t be the last!

Liked going to Half Time many times. Shocked yesterday by an $8 draft beer. Will be going elsewhere now.

Easily the best restaurant in New Bern, NC. We were on vacation and dined all over but kept coming back to this one. The adults and the children weee very happy with everything cooked to perfection. Simple yet sooo satisfying. I recommend the French dip - I had it twice!

Hidden prices. The menu stated one price for a dinner but the check reflected a much higher price. When I inquired with the waitress, she stated that although the meal came with two sides, stringbeans were an upcharge. No where on the menu is that written.
