Hwy 55 Burgers Shakes & Fries

Food was edible. No flavor to speak of. Service was not great but it wasn't terrible either. Food came out quickly. The place did look pretty dirty.

This location in New Bern was a bit disappointing. The other week I was at the Morehead City store, a new location, food was better. I wanted a Cheesesteak here in New Bern and they said they were out of steak. Ask for cocktail sauce, said they were out of that too.

Went to Hwy 55 on Saturday for lunch; it was the first time in several months since we had been and we remembered why. The restaurant AC wasn’t working so it was hot inside. The restaurant was very dirty; they need to close for a full day and do a deep clean! The sanitation grade is 87. The tables and chairs looked very worn out. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was decent. I don’t think we will be going back.

Food was good and the service was acceptable, unfortunately there are times when service is slow due not having enough staff.

I would not give this place one star. Visited in 2/8/25. About 5 pm. One waitress two other staff members. One stayed talking to his girlfriend who was watching a movie. The other who was apparently the manager on duty just stood there. While the waitress had 5 tables and was helping multiple people in line. She was working hard to catch up. One interaction with a customer made the customer state she was rude. To which the guy talking to his girlfriend confronted wht waitress. The next lady in line had an issue with her order and stated he order was wrong. To the girl apologized and began doing something to the register. That is when the guy talking to his girlfriend the whole time started yelling at the girl in front of everyone. The manager doing nothing. The guy yelling said I aint the one and slapped his hand. Stating he will tell u about yourself. We had been there 15 minutes. Not talked to. How instead of yelling at the waitress the other 2 staff members not doing anything help her get caught up. How about your girlfriend stay home so you can work. How about the manager do what a manager should do. Completely unacceptable. I hope that waitress finds better place of employment. We left. As we're we were leaving the guy with his girlfriend said see that's the 3rd table that left. Maybe we would stay if yall worked together. My advice do not go to this place ever!

Fast and great service

Service was excellent and friendly. The hot dog I had was alright. Very basic and simple but good in the less

Ordered through door dash. Missing onion rings. Drink were the wrong flavor and size. We ordered a large sweet tea and large dr pepper. Both were small and both were sweet tea. Fried pickles were floppy instead of crisp. Chicken tenders were very dark and tasted bad.

Could use a renovation. But the staff is always friendly, and they have the best burgers in town. Big fan of the chill & cheese fries, or the gravy fries also!

They where out of everything but chicken. Where out of propersized cups also out of onion rings.
