I drove out from Ft Liberty for the Tryon Palace Christmas tour. Looked downtown. Nothing looked good and it was overpriced and all were crowed. La Rosa’s was on the way out of town. Found it on Google maps. Rolled the dice. LISTEN PEOPLE! THIS IS THE BEST ITALIAN / SEAFOOD RESTAURANT ON THE NC COAST. People. You need to eat here. The service was great. They had been busy all day and it was evident the waitstaff was beat. Service was great. Food was even better. My party ordered the chicken parm (bussin), the fruitti de mar (straight fire), the Alfredo with shrimp ( best ever) , chicken Marsala, (delish) , portabello ravioli (OMG), and the crab cakes. I had the crabs cakes. I grew up in Baltimore MD. I know good crab cakes. These are not Maryland Crab Cakes. I loved them. I got a side of penne with fresh tomatoes sauce onit. It is chopped tomatoes in olive oil. WOW! The salads and soups were Amazeballs. Bread was fresh.Don’t judge this book by its cover. This place doesn’t waste resources on making it self look too fancy. It focuses on giving you amazing food. It was perfect. Not pretentious. Will make the trip back to New Bern just to eat here again. 13/10 recommend.

I dine with a group that absolutely loves this place. It has a great reputation, but it is just not for me. Many will say it is the best in the area.

Salads and appetizers were good. Marinara sauce was not my favorite, but my husband liked it and he loves anything with marinara. Serving sizes we're large, so we took home leftovers so we were too full for dessert.Kid-friendliness: We had a table near us with four children. The wait staff was patient with them until they started running around their table. Then the caution came out for no running.Wheelchair accessibility: Plenty of space to maneuver a wheelchair around tables and up to a table.
Amazing food! Authentic! Chicken Alfredo best I've ever tasted. Chicken marsala close to best!

Okay, the atmosphere is pretty plain, but the food is consistently good. Same staff over many years. The veal piccata is my favorite. Others love the Italian trio. I prefer the salad over the soup option. Bread is decent. Wine choices are reasonable in price and quality.
