Purchased tickets to tour Tryon Palace and had some time to grab a bite to eat at Lawson’s. You might not find this place, but now that you know about it, you definitely should stop in. I tried the special of the day, the Jammin Ham sandwich. Our waitress asked if I wanted it toasted, that was a whole next level of taste. The onion jam is house made, as all their sides and dressings. If you like potato salad, theirs is excellent. Like mine only better. And I make excellent potato salad!. The view of the river and the atmosphere in this place made it such an enjoyable meal. You could stop here daily and not be bored by the sandwich selections as you can create your own.

Sandwich shop that has an excellent, attentive wait staff...We would recommend the hefty sandwiches with the potato salad, homemade lemonade, and the cheesecake, but we do not recommend the clam chowder soup (more like potato soup). Pricing is above average. Great view. Need taller high chairs to accommodate mostly high top seating.
Kid-friendliness: Staff are attentive, but high chairs are not high enough for their table height.

Wonderful place to lunch while visiting New Burn. Located in the History Center so its a perfect stop for a bite to eat. The menu has great variety for any taste or wants. The service was terrific and the food was superb.

Great place to eat! Our server Megan was amazing. Food was great. The pimento cheese is made in house and was added to the tots. Also the cranberry bread pudding with rum sauce was delicious. We sat basically on the river with a fantastic view. Highly recommend.

Overpriced-probably because of proximity to Tryon Palace. Food amount and quality doesn't match price. Took so long with a drink that I canceled it. Server was pretty good. The only house-made dessert was so small, I sent it back. Had sample of pimento cheese and it was warm-Probably sitting on the line unchilled, and made with mayo. Won't be back!
