This was our first time here, and we can say that Amber is an amazing waitress. The pros and cons of our experience: overall, we would say, do not get the braised short rib entree, meat and grits were too dry, missing accompaniments mentioned in the menu. The waitress agreed because she tasted it as well. We had to return it. Do get the brussel sprouts as a side, seasoned well. The calamari was a very small portion to price ratio and only really had the rings, not so much the legs. We thought the chicken salad sandwich was average but do get the homemade chips. So good! And get the Blackberry burger! Cooked well and the goat cheese spread was divine. 3.75/5. Owner cared enough to find out the true details of what happened and what didn't meet expectations.

Stopped here for lunch. We were quickly seated and our waitress arrived moments later. The food was cooked to perfection. Hot and delicious. I w ate at The Chelsea several times and I'm happy every time I visit. The restaurant has beautiful vintage charm as you would expect from a great restaurant in downtown New Bern. The staff were very attentive and friendly. I can't wait to go back.

This place is nestled on a nice corner of downtown New Bern and was a nice place to eat for my birthday brunch! The service was amazing but the food sadly was not as good as it looked and it looked amazing. My wife's shrimp and grits were dry and did not have a lot of taste, my sandwich was about the same however my cranberry mayo was on point. The best part of the meal was my espresso martini, which was probably the best I have had out! I would like to go back again to try a dinner and to see if the food is better.

We have been wanting to try the Chelsea for a long time and finally got the chance while spending the weekend in New Bern celebrating my fiancés birthday.
Let me say the service was excellent. The food looked good but the shrimp and grits lacked flavor and sauce. We travel all over and its one of my favorites but this was one of the worst sadly.
The turkey club was “good” per my love. The bread and butter was delish! The expresso martini was good but the peach Bellini we didn’t care for. The best part was the sweet older ladies that sat by us. They actually sang Happy birthday to my fiancé.

My Fiancé and I had dinner here celebrating our 10th anniversary this past thursday. We showed up slightly early for our reservation, they took us immediately. Sat us in a private intimate booth towards the back of the dining room. We ordered a bottle of wine (Freakshow). presented perfectly by our server Anna. (hopefully i spelled it correctly) who was amazing! She described the daily features gracefully and gave us time to look over the menu. We ordered the shrimp and grits appetizer. The grits were amazing... local, water ground, silky and seasoned perfectly. The shrimp were cooked proper and super hot. and the brown butter bbq was unlike any traditional bbq..so much better. The Chef came out to meet with us and recommended the Wahoo Oscar feature. Which we ended up ordering along with the 14oz Ribeye. The Wahoo was fresh as could be and cooked perfectly. Tasted like the ocean. Topped with a generous portion of lobster, a beautiful satin bernaise and crispy tempura asparagus, served over wild rice. That dish SLAMMED. The ribeye was charred beautifully and cooked to a perfect medium rare. The mashed potatoes were perfectly seasoned and had a nice hint of sour cream. Management touched our table a few times and made us feel welcomed and well taken care of. Everything was perfect. Right down to the espresso creme brulee with chocolate covered espresso beans. Total experience was 11 out of 10. We can't wait to go back! Thank you for being awesome!

Food and service were outstanding! Recommend the fried green tomatoes, the blackberry burger and the shrimp and scallop pasta along with the key lime pie! All we're excellent. We will be returning!
