I was having trouble finding a good deli sandwich in New Bern. A fried told me about the Village Butcher that makes good sandwiches with Boars Head cold cuts. First - the place is clean and bright and has lots of interesting things like rubs for meats and seafoods etc. They have cool jars of hot pepper relish (one of which I bought) and they had nice looking meats. The sandwich list and bread choices looked great.

The Village Market catered a large event for us last Saturday night and people absolutely raved about how delicious everything was. Daphne and her gang were so pleasant to work with, so accommodating and so helpful with the meal planning. When we came to them it was pretty clear that we had never worked on such a big event and their advise and guidance saved the day.
I found this gem because of my search for garlic balogna. This place took me back in time to when you get fresh cut meats and things you can't find anywhere else, but it's so much more! There are prepared meals for one or a family, sides ( my hubby thinks the collards are to die for) , huge muffins, ambrosia yum! This is definitely worth a stop in if you're within 40 miles of New Bern!
