Just wanted to share my experience at Scallywag's Bar & Grill at Badin Lake Marina badin lake nc this past weekend Saturday may 16th …..
This past Saturday, my cousin and I went to Scallywags bar and Grill to get an appetizer and a few drinks…. We walked in, sat down at the bar. No one was behind the bar when we walked in so we sat down and waited patiently… after about five or six minutes of sitting at the bar, Tasha a server at the Resturant came behind the bar and started making drinks for the bartender Christy because Christy was nowhere to be found and there were customers at the bar needing drinks such as myself and about 4-5 older gentlemen that were already there when we came in ….Tasha came behind the bar and began refilling the gentleman‘s drinks. She then turned to us and asked us what we would like to drink. I asked for a house vodka Red Bull, and my cousin was unsure of what she wanted. I asked for a beverage menu for my cousin to look at. And I also asked for food menus as well….. Tasha began making my drink while my cousin was overlooking the beverage menu. After we had been there for approximately 15-20 minutes finally, Christy the bartender appears out of nowhere…. after Christy, the bartender had been back behind the bar for a few minutes she still had not addressed me or my cousin so I asked her if we could please have some food menus, (my second time asking) and that my cousin knew what she wanted to drink…. She checked my Cousin‘s ID and after checking her ID walked away as if she was going to begin making the drink. She then turned around and walked to the kitchen and was in there for another 5-6 minutes …. She came back from the kitchen and she looks at me and states that she is not going to be serving me any food when I asked why she was not serving me and what I had done wrong she made a complete LIE and falsly accused me of coming into the restaurant a month prior, and making a scene about a to go order and that , that is why she was not serving me …. I immediately called Christy out on her lie in front of everyone at the bar and told her that we both know that was not what happened and I told her to pull up the cameras and show me where I supposedly made a scene she stormed out from behind the bar, walked away to the kitchen and yelled the name, “”Denise”” that was very funny because Denise never came over to me or my cousin and said a single word to us …… me, and my cousin immediately left the bar, and I went outside on the patio and found the owner. Connie pulled her to the side and explained to her everything that had just happened. She stated to me that she had not heard anything about someone making a scene over a Togo order and I told her that was because IT NEVER HAPPEND!!! the story that Christy made up about me coming into the restaurant and making a scene about that to go order was complete LIE. She did not want to serve me and so she made up a reason on why she wasn’t going to…. I hope that Gerald and Connie pull up the footage from that day review it and see that Christy’s claim for not wanting to serve me was completely false and made up. They truly need to fire her, she is driving all the business away from Scallywags’s . She is a sorry excuse of a bartender whenever she is working customers at the bar and the servers at the restaurant wait long periods of time for their drinks and for there order to be taken because she often disappears from behind the bar!!!! She sucks at her job and she should have been fired a long time ago!! This is the type of people that Scallywags employees to work at their restaurant people who drive the business away and drive their money away!
Came in on the boat with our dog to have a bite to eat after having no luck fishing. Promptly greeted and found a table outside as pets are not allowed inside but very accommodating out on the patio. The Scallwagger (fried bologna) was excellent and brought back memories. Chicken Salad on Texas Toast also awesome along with house chips. Had Buffalo Wings alongside that were very close to New York Buffalo Wings. Definitely worth the stop whether on the boat or traveling thru!

The menu has been cut in half and now it's one sheet of paper with things blacked out. It is now basically burgers and pizza. If you like the frozen burger pattys then this is the place for you. The food was subpar compared to their food a few years ago.
Scallywags has lost its fun and charm and it just seems like it's a money grab.
It's just sad and disappointing.

Waitress is just aweful! Older lady with short blond hair. She is very unfriendly and has a terrible attitude. Customers shouldn't be treated like she treated our table. The food is okay but not worth the abuse from the waitress. Not sure we will come back! I hope the owners read reviews. Yes there are few options to eat in that area....but I will drive rather than deal with this treatment.

We loved coming here by boat and even by car for the music, view and peel and eat shrimp. Today will be the last time, sadly. They charged $15 per person for a cover fee for the band that was playing outside, or sit inside. $30 to listen to people play their own songs that the band obviously wrote themselves and maybe two to three songs that people know. Ridiculous. The shrimp tasted overdone and a little off. We’ll go to the nearby restaurant on the lake that also offers live music and a very similar menu without paying a $15 person cover fee

Good food and great music on a huge covered outdoor patio right the edge of Badin Lake. Also a marina so easy access by car or boat. Friendly staff, great service.

What I like about this place is if you have a small dog, you can sit in the outside area and keep them right by you. Because a lot of people take their dogs on the boat with them.

***WARNING*** This is not a place you want to eat at. Only giving one star because our waitress was pleasant. I personally wouldn’t even stop here for a beer due to the bartenders attitude but if you can get past that it would be a cool spot to drink on the lake.
I repeat… this is not a place you should feel comfortable eating at…. The 5 star reviews for this places food are beyond inaccurate…. I warned you. ?
