The service is great but food just tastes bad…. I ordered stir-fry udon with veggies and chicken, and it tastes like someone tipped over the soy sauce bottle when cooking - way too salty!! Many flavors can be found in this dish - oily, sweet and weirdly some five spice, but only one strong theme - salty. I understand that this type of cuisine can be heavily seasoned, but these seasonings just create an imbalance flavor… lastly, the texture of the food is very weird. The chicken is very dry and the carrots are very soggy not crispy at all. Some might like it this way, that’s fair, but why would the chef sweeten the carrots with sugar or honey?? I came in at late hours, but this cooking really makes me wonder if they just pour all the remaining seasoning on this dish since they are closing soon…. I paid $30 for this.. I deeply regretted dining here.

The food was good but really pricey, and my tofu hibachi was actually burnt/charred. I’ve had much better food for a better price, and definitely had much better service. The server was snappy with my sister who was only looking at the bamboo, saying it was “too sensitive” to be touched. I thought it was a little dramatic for a bamboo plant but besides that nobody else was in the restaurant hardly, there were very few people in there and to be entirely honest, I wasn’t impressed at all.

A little gem of a restaurant. Loved the atmosphere including the mini aquarium with tiny fish and bamboo on each table. Sushi was fresh and delicious. Entrees (chicken and shrimp teriyaki and hibachi) delicious and plentiful…enough for two meals! Service was friendly and super efficient. We will be back every time we come to Banner Elk! Well done!!!

Do yourself a favor and skip this place if you want Pho. Go to Cam Ranh Bay down the street. This was terrible. Terrible flavor and pickled jalapeños instead of fresh, Sriracha sauce instead of chili. My husband's Thai Basil was loaded with curry. When the waitress asked how our food was and we expressed that we didn't care for either dish, she merely offered us a to go box. We asked to have at least the Pho removed. She had the owner come out. I expressed I didn't care for the dish. She replied with, "Well I already made it". She didn't offer any other dish or discount. I asked why they asked us how the food was since clearly it doesn't matter. You are getting it and paying for it like it or not and you are paying an extra charge if you want to use a card. $60 for a lunch we left on the table. Bad food, worse service, and dirty bathrooms. There are much better options in Banner Elk. Skip this one.

Don't be fooled by the outside and location. I'm writing this while sitting in the parking lot after just having lunch with our entire family. Our 2nd time here in the last 10 days. Food, Staff, Atmosphere, Cleanliness all excellent!
