I had the avocado toast. For me the best part of avocado toast is a good bread option. This avocado toast was good but it could have been great with a better bread option like sourdough. Loved the topping options!
The place is clean, the people are friendly. Plenty of spots to work, co-work, read a book and sip your coffee or tea, relax or catch up with friends.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this cozy spot.

Attention all coffee and pastry snobs! Wonderful little coffee shop in the heart of downtown Newport delivering truly exceptional coffee and pastries. I live in Morehead City and have sampled all of the coffee shops in this area. Although each has their unique charm, I can say with confidence that Stable Grounds currently tops the charts for me in terms of both offerings and ambiance. Try their pour-over coffee, and if you’re a dark roast lover like me, go for pour-over 46. The cinnamon rolls and cheese danishes are to die for, and I’m looking forward to sampling some of their savory foods. Need to get some work done or want to hang out for a while? There’s ample seating both indoors and outdoors.

The food was delicious. I ordered the egg, cheese, and bacon croissant, which was flaky and fresh. The friendly staff offered quick service. The decor was charming, with plenty of comfortable seating and good lighting. It’s clear that a lot of thought has gone into creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
The coffee here is very good and the staff were great. My girlfriend ended up dropping her coffee all over the floor and the staff made her a new coffee for no charge. Thank you so much!

Had lunch here with my daughter on Saturday, 5/18/24. So glad we tried it! We shared two sandwiches -one w/ "dilly mayo" & cucumber & turkey & muenster (so good!), the other with ham, swiss & horseradish (also a fave!), pasta salad, and an amazing bacon, cheddar, & jalapeno scone! Can't wait to go back!

This place is amazing. The meat to bread to spread ratio was perfect. I ordered the refresher and it lived up to its name. The staff is very friendly and the owner was great with my indecisiveness. I will definitely be back to try out some more delicious creations of theirs.
