Deans Southern Bistro

Today (my birthday) my husband and I had lunch at Dean's. This will be our new spot every time we come to town. He ordered fried catfish with collards, mac and cheese, hush puppies, and pinto beans. All the food was delicious, perfectly seasoned, and came out quickly. I had BBQ ribs, mac and cheese, collards, homemade roll and cabbage. I finished my plate in about 10 minutes or less because the food was so dang good. Then I got a free piece of strawberry cake because it is my birthday. I will never have pizza, wings or even bojangles when I come to town. Its only Dean's for me from here on out. Great food and kind service.

Unbelievable! Real southern soul food! Dined in. The service was on point. The food was on point. Had fried chicken, greens and Mac n cheese. Also, fried ribs! Whew! Like eating at your relatives' house but better!

My first time was not good I believe there where under staff but we been here over a hour my mother food was not done they took well over 30 min to bring it to here and forgot about it we had to ask we couldn’t get the waitress attention with me raising my hand or hollering

The menu is simple and the food was delicious. Collard greens were perfectly cooked and seasoned. All items ordered were delicious. Had to wait for our cornbread, but it was so good warm out of the oven. The staff were all friendly. They were busy the whole time, constant customer flow. That tells me this restaurant is well liked in the community.

The food was fresh. Made to order and delicious. The service was slow, but the waitress made up for it by her southern hospitality. The atmosphere was truly a hometown, southern cooking experience.
The desserts, too, were exceptional. Dean's Bistro has a wide variety of dessert.
If travel ever finds you in Wilksboro, NC? You must make it a point to stop by and enjoy a wonderful meal.

While visiting family here, me and my sweetie wanted to try Dean's. We went during the week as we thought they would have their buffet, only to be told by Paul that they only do it on Sundays. He proceeds to tell us what all they had on it and that it was great. So we went on Sunday. The buffet consisted of CHEAP food rice, corn, green beans, mac and cheese, sweet potatoes,hamburger patty swimming in gravy, and sliced pork in gravy, blackberry cobbler and mixed fruit. I ordered of the regular menu a grilled blacked chicken sandwich, which (it was not blackened with seasoning)with fries which after 30 minutes I received and my sweetie was done with what he got from the buffet. Pictured is the food we got. (Poor quality).The waitress Donna, was just ok. When we got our ticket, we were charged $17.07(buffet) after being quoted $16.95 over the phone. I questioned the bill and was told it was because we used a credit card. How did they know if the customer was going to use a credit card? That's Wrong? I Don't know what the fuss is all about because it was Nothing to write home about! My 83 year old Mama can cook Better than what we ate and she is a True Southern cook from Georgia!!!We won't ever go back after the terrible experience!!!

This is one the BEST places to get home made food and i really had enjoyed it and the service was great kind of slow but there were a lot of people so thats a reason why but the chickin and rice was the best part of the meal 100% will come again definetly recommed

The food is so good! I am obsessed with the Mac and Cheese and the Sunday hot bar is absolutely delicious!!!!!!!!

I placed an order for Chop steak, garlic potatoes and collard greens. Really wanted to eat some collard greens but didn’t receive any with my order. Noticed the tray seemed light but only realized after opening that there weren’t any. I was also disappointed in the chop steak. It was my first time ordering there so I didn’t realize it doesn’t come with gravy. I no longer wanted the order at the realization of both things. I believe they said only the manager has permissions to refund so wasn’t able to clear it up. Left my number about the order issue but haven’t received a call.

This was a terrible place to eat. Has no salad bar. Rest rooms are not very clean. You don't get very much for your money. Salad bar has a all you can eat sign but no salad bar. Salad bar is not being used.
