The lady owner is not a nice person. She's hateful and acts like your trying to take advantage of her over a 6$ sandwich. Cagney's Kitchen of Wilkesboro offers a mix of dining experiences that keeps customers returning. While some reports mention issues with understaffing and cold food, many diners enjoy the good food, fresh and made to order, and fast service. Tasty options like the Western omelette, biscuits and gravy, and Reuben sandwich continue to receive praise. Guests have noted the phenomenal food and service, although some feel the atmosphere would be perfect without the overplayed music. The restaurant provides a solid diner experience, with a clean dining room and restrooms. The menu features a variety of vegetables, but it may not cater well to vegan or vegetarian diners. Some customers appreciate the large portions, although specific dishes like the Italian sub and chicken souvlaki wrap could use a little more attention to ingredients. Cagney's has been recognized for having one of the best breakfast menus in town, and the food is always fresh. The recent menu changes and price increases are seen as an indicator of inflation rather than greed. Overall, Cagney's Kitchen maintains a 4.2 rating for its food, service, and atmosphere, with many expressing a wish for more locations closer to home. Many have driven long distances just to eat here, finding it worth the trip for the down home atmosphere and good food.
