“Merle's is a gem! The space is absolutely beautiful and the cocktails are some of the best I've ever had! They have a wonderful selection of drinks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic. The staff are extremely kind, helpful and so good at what they do! The owners are great people and care deeply about the Wilkesboro community. 10/10 recommend!”

“After hearing only utmost praise for The Spice is Right, I decided on ordering lunch from them today. I arrived shortly before peak hours and ordered the Chicken Fajita Wrap. I had to wait a little longer than I initially expected, but that completely passed my mind after I was given a FULL REFUND for what the chef called "overcooked chicken." I must disagree though, the dish was fantastic. I'll definitely be returning in order to pay them back.”

“I love this place! There food is delicious, I tell friends it’s just like eating at Granny,s! (And my Granny was the best cook). Service is always excellent ?. Now, if you are looking for fancy it’s not ! It’s an old country diner with great food, just what we were looking for, we drive about an hour one way to eat there once or twice a week.”

“Chappy's was amazing - I'm glad my girlfriend came across it while planning our MLK weekend out in the mountains. The man Chappy himself took our orders while telling us about his cool little bar-turned-crêperie location. Super cool atmosphere inside that I didn't expect when I first saw it from the road.We split the pesto crepe and each got a sweet crepe a piece - the smores for me and the berry for my girlfriend. Chappy was happy to customize them in any way as well. They were delicious - see photos. ?Definitely check it out if you're in the area!”

“My family has a place in the mountains about 45 mins from here, but this is where we exit the highway. I try to stop at Santa Lucia every opportunity I can to pick-up food on the way out there! One of the best, hole in the wall, Mexican spots I've found in N.C. You know it's good when most of the staff/patrons are speaking Spanish. I usually get a chorizo burrito (big portion, lots of meat), plus sides of queso and guacamole - both are excellent and their chips are perfection!! Having said that, I've never had anything I didn't like from here. It's unassuming and in what appears to be a converted gas station ... exactly what you want for no frills Mexican food. If you're going on a Friday evening, I suggest calling ahead. They get really busy and wait times can exceed an hour if you have a big order.”

“Your local, "hole in the wall" restaurant. I would go out of my way to eat here. Home made Mexican style bakery. I believe they are actually el Salvadorean but great food, none the less. The pork carnitas tacos were perfect. Soft and moist in the middle and crunchy on the edges. The pupusas are perfect. If you don't like their pupusas, you don't like pupusas. Priced reasonable and speed of food was good. Get your authentic, high-quality food here.”

I have an u usual allergy, and so went to the connected health food store/smoothie shoo and got an amazing smoothie to fill me up. Because both are owned by the same family, you can bring.one places food to the other with no issue.”

“Since moving to NC from CA, I have been missing a really good carnitas, beans and rice, chili relleno and a few other favorites. This restaurant reminds me of the flavors I could get just over the border and have missed so much. The service is great, fast, fresh and accurate. “We had a luncheon at Olive Garden for 22 people following a family funeral. It was Easter Saturday. The manager, Ben Robbins, graciously agreed to host our group and seated us in a private area of the restaurant. The food was fantastic, our servers were professional, gracious, and attentive, and our fellowship was full of sharing memories. I am honored to highly recommend Olive Garden in Wilkesboro, NC.”

“Very busy place at prime times but Service was very prompt and professional. Did an online order and walked inside. Waited maybe 5 mins or less and I was on my way out. Everyone was polite and professional. I stopped here in a semi between Lowe’s and chic filet there is limited place to park for large vehicles. But that is to be expected.Dietary restrictions: You can somewhat eat keto here with grilled chicken salad.Parking: Plenty of parking for cars but if you’re in a large vehicle (semi or have a trailer) it can be tight.Kid-friendliness: Excellent place to bring kids. “This is one of my favorite restaurants. I like their salads with grilled chicken. The salad dressing is great. The seasoning on that chicken is some of the best I've had! I get take out. The inside is quaint and cozy. They seem to stay busy. That's a good sign that they have good food. Ample free parking in front of restaurant. It's located on the end if the building down by the metal fence.”

“While the food IS the best Chinese in Wilkes and I truly adore their kind staff, they really need to update their contact methods. More than one phone line is a great start. Many, many times I can just not get through to place an order, so I have to order elsewhere.They don't offer online ordering, which is just fine, but with the heavy customer traffic in store and via phone with the phone line always busy, it can be super frustrating. While it is my favorite Chinese restaurant, I rarely get eat here unless I walk in to order because I can't get through on their busy phone line.Much love though! “We stopped early (they open at 5 but we got there about 4:30) and they still took us. Good service and good food. I had the Fast Philly and the spouse had the Shroom and Swiss Smash Burger and they were both very good. We will go back again at some point!”

“For a person who does a lot of “10 minutes til close” orders the service is normally garbage regarlesss of the establishment and the food sub par….tonight the 2 man team was efficient and courteous. The Didn’t try to rush me and was not rude about my indecisiveness, prompt responses and efficient service. If only it could be like this everywhere.”
