“Wow, wow and more wow! I came to visit Piccione in 2020 when they were in their earlier years, and this time, I was blown away by their new tasting room! It was so lovely with the amazing views! The wines were phenomenal as well (and this is the thing that brought me back a second time!). I was with a group from a South Carolina Winery, and the owners/vineyard managers (Dustin and Eric) actually came up and spoke with us on several topics for a while. It was so enlightening and so nice of them to take time out of their days to spend educating us! They even showed up some of their new facilities, such as event rooms, library, kitchen, etc. I will definitely be back to this outstanding winery!”
“This place was busy, really starting to get busy @ lunch. Only 2 people there and they were on it. The guy that made mine, Matt, was very good. As you can see it's a messy sandwich. Chicken bacon ranch footlong pro on Italian herb and cheese bread, toasted. It's basically a grilled chicken salad kn a sandwich. It's a big sandwich It's always messy, but dang it, it'd good and most of the time I get 2 meals out of it, so it's worth the extra $3 to make it a pro. But here's what impressed me. They were busy like I said before, but Matt took time to cut the cucumbers... I was shocked. I've got this same sandwich 10 times from 4 different Subways now, and this was the 1st time somebody did that. It matters because he was trying to make it easier to eat, instead of just throwing it together and rush rush rush. I didn't get the woman's name thst was there with him today too, but both of them were really on top of things. This is by far the best experience I've had @ a subway in a while, maybe ever. So if you're in the area and you want to get a big ol' sandwich that weighs about 5lbs and feeds you for two meals, stop in and get you one.”
“A group of us had the pleasure of reserving a private tasting at Raffaldini. Our guide, Sam, was super knowledgeable about the ins and outs of the wine business, and we thoroughly enjoyed the wines! The Rose and Montepulciano were our faves!”
“One of our favorite places for a nice quiet dinner out. Gotta ask for the heat though (all the way), and they’ll happily comply. Never had a bad meal or experience.”
“One of my favorite local go-to places! Large selection of candy, baking needs, baked goods, snacks, deli meats & cheeses, etc. Make sure to grab a sandwich while you're visiting- they're delicious! It's also easy to make vegan or vegetarian accommodations by grabbing a veggie sandwich. If you've never been, I recommend a Saturday morning visit (it will be busy) to grab a bag of donuts & some coffee.”
“Stumbled across this place by accident. We were greeted at the door and sat right away. The service was excellent and the food was perfect and delicious. Most tender Carnitas I have ever had.”
“We stopped in while doing the passport wineries tour. So glad we stopped in. We had a wonderful time. After the wine tasting we did one of the short trails to the dam. Anytime we can have some wine and then do a hike/walk is a great combo for us.”
“The Fettuccine Alfredo is absolutely amazing and has the best flavor and consistency, And the wait staff were constantly topping off drinks and are always polite.”
“Highly recommend this place. Service was great, the owner was very friendly, the food was excellent! The pork belly and their shrimp for appetizers were delicious. This is our new favorite dinner spot in Elkin!”
“Hefty portions are the norm. I had the Southern Eggs Benedict (excellent!), my co-traveler had scrambled eggs and livermush ( similar to scrapple without cornmeal!!)Everything was perfectly cooked and arrived hot!Definitely worth the stop!Wheelchair accessibility: Building is a former Shoney’s several handicap ♿️ parking spaces and a built in ramp to the door. Easy access.”
“We FINALLY got to go tonight for the first time and it was SO good! The burgers were cooked perfectly. Fries are different and really good (which Elkin needed). We also ordered the dessert nachos. They were delicious! 10 out of 10!!!!!”
“Came in for the night from Charlotte to see The Reeves theater. Did not disappoint !! The music, the sound were unbelievable. Great cafe and bar. This is worth the 1.15 min drive from Charlotte to sit in this old theater and listen to the bands.”
“The craft cocktails are top notch. The service is even better. The clientele is eclectic. The owner/operator will always make you feel like family. This is the best place in Elkin.”
“Really great place to go in Elkin to relax, with drinks, live music, and usually a food truck or two. Live music is almost always good. The design of the bathrooms are really cool, and so is the design of the rest of the place.”
“This is the cutest little shop. The sandwiches were amazing. Everything in the deli cooler looked sooooo good. Definitely rate this one of the best lunches in Elkin.”
“If you like country cooking, look no further. Home cooking!!! This place was so good we are already planning a return trip. Service was better than great. Easily tip the tab!”
“What an unexpected gem in a quaint little town. These folks are not messing around and put out some quality food and wine. The space is an old 1930s Belk department store that they renovated which is neat and the jazz music really added to the vibe. Lovely and delicious!”
“I went here on a random winter Friday in January. Bryan was super friendly and it was literally just me in the tasting room but it was very relaxing. The vibe was so nice even though it was windy out. I got to just chill by the window and do my flight and sip on a glass of their tasty cab franc. Highly recommend, any time of the year. They are open Fridays during Jan/Feb which is one of the few vineyards open this time of the year.”
“Traveling through NC we opted to stop here for food, coffee, and wi-fi. It is THE cutest place to hang out. The Bourbon Caramel Toffee Crunch coffee, Pear & Goat Dalad, and Charcuterie sandwiches were over the top delicious!!”
“We stopped in for what we thought would be a quick cocktail, but we ended up staying for a few hours. Not only were the cocktails tasty and extremely well executed, they were visually appealing as well. We ordered the bacon and Brie flatbread which was so much better than we expected. The balsamic reduction drizzle was the star! Our server was the best. She was super friendly, very attentive and she just all around brought good vibes. Unfortunately I can’t remember her name, but she had fun green hair. I would say the Banana Puddin cocktail was my favorite, so delicious!! All thanks to our server for a great experience.”
“Great spot to relax and enjoy the river. We sat outside on the deck, definitely where you want to be when the weather is nice. Great service. Dog friendly. The dog had a bowl of water and a kids burger. The humans had wine flights. The menu is small but lovely and complements the wine well. We had the pesto and turkey apple and Brie panini.”
“We eat here whenever we're in the area. Not just because it is close to the house, but it is truly good food. The service is always kind and attentive, even if you're not from around the area. You'll notice that this is a place for the locals, as there is a men's group that eats there at breakfast time, and everybody knows everybody. The interior is casual with all chair seating- no booths. The bathrooms are on the backside of the building - you go through an enclosed hallway with windows viewing the exterior to get there. Don't expect fancy here, but do expect a quality meal at a good price.”
“My Mama passed away from Covid three years ago in November. She always baked me a pineapple cake for my birthday, and also just because I was craving it many times. I haven't been able to find anything close to the way hers tasted. Today is my birthday and my husband ordered me a pineapple cake from Bon Bon's. He said he ordered it late, but after hearing why he wanted it so badly they made sure I had a pineapple cake for my birthday today. I cried because it tasted just like my Mama's, and it absolutely made my day. Everyone was bragging on how wonderful it tasted, but no one could have enjoyed it anymore than I did because I felt like Mama was hugging me from Heaven. Thank you so much. I highly recommend Bon Bon's. They are wonderful!”
“Cute little store, nice for a visit after hiking stone mnt. I didn't try the ice cream or food. I found some of their selections sparse, perhaps it's better in the spring/summer.”
“I love Laurel Gray!! My hubs and I come here every year and this past time we were there they remembered us! It was awesome!! Their wines are good and the patios are an excellent way to enjoy your wine! The views at the vineyards are so calming. See you guys next year!!!”
“Definitely not pizza I am used to, being from places that are known for pizza aka ny,ctPizza is paper thin hardly any sauce or cheese, but love their salad bar thoughWheelchair accessibility: Front door really tight even for walking people”
“Nice place. Outdoor bathrooms like an old gas station but clean and nice. Food great. Prices good. No real ambiance.Dietary restrictions: Salad options exist for low carb eating.Parking: Plenty of parking there and nearby.”
“Some might disagree but to me it’s the decor and feel that I love. Simple great fast good American fare. One of those hidden gems that you stumble upon.Googled food near me while driving on I-77 and Marty’s came up I am glad I stopped in. Great portions at a good price. Please support this great place.”
“Excellent food and great little hole in the wall. Family oriented and friendly staff. Small town favorite for many years and continues to grow. Best homemade biscuits and homemade gravy around”
