Consistently good food, and good service. They serve breakfast all day, they have a lot of gluten-free options, their gluten-free waffles are also dairy free. Our family has a lot of dietary restrictions, and they were careful to make sure everything came out the way it needed to. I fully expect us to come back the next time we visit the island.

I’ve been to Fixins many times since it opened and have always liked it. But today’s breakfast was sooo good, particularly in comparison to a chain breakfast place I went to a couple of weeks ago. The food was perfectly cooked and hot and there was a generous portion of everything. I’m so glad so came in!

Deceitful and misleading. Watched their web site for over a month waiting for reservations to open for thanksgiving buffet. Called them to ask when they would open to hear they closed LAST WEEK. Had them look at web site to only say IT DID SAY RESERVATIONS WILL OPEN SOON! Avoid this at all costs! If they cannot correctly accept reservations how can they possibly cook good food?
We love eating at fixins it is always great .. but we also went to there cooking class and it was amazing we all loved it and can not wait to do another one

The owner of the restaurant was active just like the employees. We sat in the corner and he was the first person to touch our table and checked in- yall the owner walked around and checked on us. That was a great feeling. The served and host were very sweet. Food was amazing. !!!

We went for breakfast and had a great experience. The service was a definite 5/5; everyone was incredibly friendly, and multiple employees checked in on us throughout the meal. The food was also very good (4.5/5). My wife loved her chocolate pancakes. I had the Shrimp and Grits—the texture was what you'd expect for grits, and it had a wonderful savory aroma almost like a beef stew. We would definitely recommend it!

If you’re anywhere near Oak Island, do yourself a favor and stop by Fixin’s — this place is an absolute treasure! The service is warm and welcoming, the coffee is always fresh, and the food… oh my goodness, the omelets are to die for!
Each bite is packed with flavor — fluffy eggs, fresh ingredients, and that perfect balance of savory goodness that keeps you coming back for more. You can tell everything’s made with love and care, just like a true Southern breakfast should be.
Whether you’re a local or just visiting, Fixin’s is the kind of place that makes you feel right at home. Five stars without hesitation — hands down the best breakfast spot on the island!

Became my go to breakfast (and sometimes lunch--- TRY THE CHICKEN!!!) spot while on vacation. Cozy place with great food! If you are inclined to have a mimosa or wine with breakfast, they can do that too! Staff were fantastic. Tried a different thing everyday and nothing disappointed!

Gluten Free Biscuits and Gravy are so great, I had to ask if it was truly GF... nice selection of teas from Bigelow. And the season of fall so apparent in the Pumpkin Spice Scone. My very sweet hospitable waitress Cathy V was professional and educated for allergies and sensitivities.

Business was slow today is one reason the atmosphere was so great. The noise and hustle gets me sometimes. The food was point on. I got the omelet with potatoes and toast. The potatoes were fresh with salt on them. Salting as soon as they are cooked is key. The omelet was great with peppers and onion oh and ham. All the filling were fresh. The sour dough toast was good also. I like a little more brown but with sour dough it makes it really crunchy and tough. But that's what I like. The coffee was Bald Head Coffee and I tried the medium and dark. I preferred the dark. It had a great taste, but I like stronger coffee. The service was great and attentive. I will go back for sure. Also they silverware you can eat with. It's not the cheap that racks your tongue and twists in your hand when you use it. A plus just for the silverware

Fixins is where your breakfast dreams come true. 30 minute wait on a Saturday morning as expected, but well worth it. 3/4 of us got the Rise and shine breakfast which was delicious. Eggs, bacon, breakfast potatoes and biscuit all cooked to perfection. My father enjoyed the pancakes and sugar free syrup. Mimosas were on point. Best of all our server was excellent. Extremely welcoming, knowledgable and prompt. Don’t know how your morning can start better than this!
Edit: you know I had to come back for the biscuits and gravy! Perfection.

We discovered Fixin’s last year, and it has quickly become our favorite breakfast spot on the island. During our most recent visit, we ate there three times! The ingredients are always fresh and perfectly prepared, and it’s clear the owner and chef takes great pride in his work. His passion shows not only in the food but also in the way he takes time to visit tables, deliver meals when he can, and genuinely seek feedback.
The servers are consistently attentive and provide top-notch service. This place is a true gem—I can’t say enough good things about it!
