A cozy must‑visit for coffee lovers and early riders—great coffee, bagels, and friendly vibes. Perfect for a pre‑ ride pick‑me‑up! I run e‑bike tours (Cycle‑logical Tours) and would love to send riders your way and explore a partnership.

Hi there! I’m a local and a regular at Island Jo’s — I love starting my work day with a bagel and coffee from y’all. I wanted to reach out over the cream cheese being on the light side the past couple of visits, especially this last time. It won’t stop me from coming back, but I figured I’d mention it in case it’s something that can be adjusted. Thanks and keep up the great work!!

The menu is huge and the food and coffee are great. Service was super fast and everyone was very nice. The potato salad is crazy good! 10/10 best breakfast and lunch food we had on our trip to OKI.

Wanted a breakfast bagel ans whife and I went here. Very cute place. Nice electronic menu. We came for breakfast. However, they had a nice lunch menu. They have coffee too. Maybe next time. Inhad a sausage egg and cheese on everything bagel. It did not disappoint. My wife had an avocado 🥑 BLT on Rye. She said it was very good. We git my daughter a bit on toast, which looked delicious as well. Very cute atmosphere as well. It's definitely a must visit on Oak Island.

Got the egg and cheese bagel. Was really surprised when I bit into it and tasted nothing. The egg wasn’t seasoned and the cheese had no flavor. The chocolate banana latte was the only thing saving this place from have a 1 star in food. The service was pretty good, the people were really friendly and nice and extremely helpful. But don’t think about sitting inside, there seems to be no ac. My girlfriend also had an everything bagel with cream cheese on it. She said it was pretty good. As well as a brown sugar caramel latte which she said was also pretty good. For all the items it came out to about 25$. Which I think is overpriced.

Great coffee, fast and delicious food. But most importantly, this business cares about customers. I listened to the employees discuss a “Google review” that critiqued one of their meals and they all discussed ways to improve. They did not get upset at the criticism, but instead listened to it and learned how to improve. Best business practice by far.

Cool little spot on Oak Island. The coffee and breakfast sandwiches were great. The Avocado toast was weird at best, just super cold slices of avocado and some strong seasoning. Otherwise it would have been a solid 5. The bread for the toast was great.

This is the place you've got to go on Oak Island. Jim makes you feel at home. I can hardly wait until they are open until 730pm. Then it will be sandwich time done the right way.

Disappointed overall. A pretty decent local spot here in OKI, and used to be a favorite back a few years ago when my family got a place here. Maybe it’s still dear to me because it was the first place I ever visited for a coffee and breakfast on the island. However, now the prices are absolutely ridiculous for what you’re receiving. You have to be either completely careless or have no idea where else to go if you think that paying $15 after tax and tip for a simple takeout breakfast sandwich is a good move. This is not Cape Cod or Martha’s Vineyard, folks.

That sandwich is maybe a $4, bacon egg and cheese. And they wouldn’t even prep me a fresher slice or two of bacon— just all the burnt extra crispy tidbits from the bottom of the basket. Okay, it was 1:30pm so they were gearing to close but still, don’t stay open or don’t offer breakfast after certain hours if you’re not going to take the time to make it how it should be for any customer who walks in, whether it’s one dude getting a sandwich and nothing else, or a whole family getting breakfast and coffee for everyone.

It’s a shame that we’re seeing places we’ve loved and grown accustomed to change and the atmosphere change as well. Of course, it’s expected that many of these restaurants and shops are going to cater to the tourist, but this was a place that was one of the ones you could count on to be consistently tasty and for a good price, year round. I don’t even think a tourist can swallow paying that for a breakfast sandwich. $15? $15 I wish I had back. I didn’t even want to ask what the bottled beverage prices were, so I toughed it out, and choked the burnt bacon down.

Where are all the good locally-owned (not by Northern transplants) spots? Does one even exist? Shaking my head…

It’s not a problem of money, it’s the principle. The value just isn’t there for me, and I’m sure many others as well. Sell goods and services for the value you provide, people. I seriously hope they reconsider the pricing. Or I may just have to open a cafe and coffee house with right sized, appropriate dollar amounts for good, quality, fresh food. Wake up people.
