Ordered grilled shrimp. Received boiled. The boiled itself wasn't flavorful. Didnt even both going back due to them being 'take out only' bc someone went home sick. Not impressed. 2nd time returning.

I'm not one to usually write a Google review, but my family's experience here definitely warrants it. We were looking for a quick bite for lunch and Oak Island Restaurant checked the boxes for having a kid's menu (we have a 5 year old and 7 year old) and being open for lunch (many of the restaurants on OKI open at 4 or later). Plus it boasted on the sign, "Best Fish on the Beach."Upon first entering the restaurant, there were a few patrons seated at tables, usually a good sign. The hostess greeted us and sat us in a booth and the server greeted us fairly promptly. Unfortunately this is where the experience started to take a turn. The floor under the table was sticky and there was a sticky film on the table indicating it was probably wiped down, but not with a clean towel. When the server came to get our orders, she informed us that the soda machine was broken.My wife and I were eager to try the "best fish on the beach" and my daughters both got chicken fingers with fries. We both got the pick two (flounder & scallops) grilled with lemon pepper seasoning. What we got, however, was nothing short of the worst seafood, I've ever seen or tasted. The food had no taste, not even bad taste, just no taste and definitely no lemon pepper seasoning. It was obvious this food was not fresh: reheated frozen fillets, overcooked, rubbery scallops, fries and hush-puppies from a freezer bag. This place wouldn't have the "best fish on the beach" if the only other seafood restaurant served chum and canned tuna. Gordon Ramsey I am not, but this is a place he needs to rescue.Save your money and go somewhere else or just light a $50 bill on fire. It would be more satisfying.

Fisherman platter. Wow. Flounder was amazzzzing.The platter feed me and my wife.I ordered it for her and man the food. It was worth it. Shrimp. . we went fried. So. Grilled is an option.Scallops. Crab . oyster's. Clams.All of it was yummy.

Had family come down from Myrtle and we decided to try this place due to seating. Waited around an hour but it was worth it! The lemon pepper grilled shrimp was amazing. I cleared my whole plate. Prices are decent for fish at the beach. If you want simple but good, try this place. Waitress was super friendly as well . Will be back!
Atmosphere very nice.Service was exceptional.Food was very good and plentiful. If you're a seafood lover, flounder and shrimp this is a wonderful place. The waitresses do a great job. Just be patient with them as the sign says entering the establishment. They'll get to you and fulfil your request.

if I could put zero Stars I would because this place is very terrible. Sitting at the table for an hour waiting for food then the waitress or hostess came and put the tea picture on the table while sitting waiting for food another customer across from us accidentally spilled the drink and no one would help them so my wife got up and gave him our napkins to clean up the spilled mess then the waitress decided to come over to help them got the our food it was terrible the fish didn't test right and the scallops did not taste at all that great I will not eat here ever again terrible service rude hostess once we got up to help the One customer and had to get ketchup for ourselves that's when the hostess and waitress decided to see if we needed anything

Reserved for 2 nights in a row in person and was supposedly booked (which I can understand) but we had a spot for 8:30 the 2nd time. Never was called or notified. When I walked in to ask about our spot i glanced towards "private" room as a waiter walked in and I noticed a guy sitting in his desk pulling his pants up while a waitress was wiping her lips. I was never given a straight answer for my my spot not being reserved. Im upset for the poor management as I heard great things about this place. Hope whoever is in charge can get out there desk and manage a little better!
