No rye bread for brisket. Food Lion across the street. Could someone just go buy a few loves?

Amazing, cozy little restaurant and eatery! Truly a little gem in the heart of Oakboro! The whitefish plate was crispy and delicious, as well as the burgers and salad! The homemade strawberry cake with coffee was to die for! On Sundays they do bingo! Friendly staff and comforting southern atmosphere, ask for Lindsey as your server!

The menu is complicated. Everything on the menu is sold individually. Quality is poor. Service is kind of sucky. The cooks prefer not to cook breakfast in the afternoon, but you can order pancakes, just no eggs or grits.

One star because I had too! The menu had be changed to breakfast (we were told the cooks dont like to cook after 10) but we could order pancakes or waffles if we wanted, or sandwiches. There was a separate senior menu that offered grilled chicken, fries chicken and veggies, but nothing of the sort on the regular menu. Service was horrible. Took 40 min to get our order. The grilled chicken tasted like fish, the field peas were dry and cooked to death (looked like they had nuked them for 5 min). We had been before and it was great, after this experience not sure we will be back anytime soon.

Our first visit. A friendly welcoming staff. Comfortable decor. We only had time for soup. It was the best french onion soup ever. plan on returning for prime rib soon.

Horrible service!!! Waitresses were too worried about carrying on other conversations to wait on us. I won't go back.....

Well hell! Though we would try the Eagles Nest in Oakboro for a burger. That was a big disappointment! The 1/4 lb burger was so small a patty I laughed. Would be ashamed to serve that. Even weighed it. I know some loss after cooking, but i barely weighed 1/8th of a lb.

Was traveling thru on business and stopped in town at a local shops. It was close to closing and I asked where in town to eat. The shop keepers suggested this place for a sit down meal with more options than just burgers.
