Great vegan options. Pita platter, amazing salad, delicious hippie sandwich.

Tonight was our first time ordering from Causeway Gourmet. It was absolutely delicious! My husband had the Reuben & I had the Blue Beast. These are probably the best sandwiches we’ve had since we moved here six months ago 💞 We’ll definitely be back!

In an area where ‘enlightened’ food options are very limited CG stand out with some very flavorful dishes. There are a couple options for vegan or veg folks.

This is my personal long time favorite cafe! I enjoy the delicious, well prepared and fresh dishes here! The mushroom soup and avocado shrimp salad are my favorites! My son loves the God Father!
I hate to reveal my secret, but the carrot CAKE is divine here... enjoy!

I came down for a weekend getaway excited for some oysters from this place and was very disappointed. They were over cooked and the flavor was horrible.

Everything was SO good! We came by for lunch and got the gumbo special, Thai beef, and crab cake sandwich and everything was just delicious. The coconut pie was also a big hit with our group. A definitely must stop for a delicious meal that went by very quickly!

To be fair we didn't eat there. But that's because there was really only the hummus plate that was vegan and my husband doesn't eat hummus. The pasta primavera was in chicken broth! Huh? They have an excellent reputation with locals and it's possible the menu varies to include more options. But after 6 days of cycling across NC where it was very veg-unfriendly I'd been really looking forward to this place. We were very disappointed.

Great food, great people, little hole in the wall. Will definitely go back

Stopped here after traveling for something quick to eat. The food was great, but being understaffed, the service, unfortunately, was slow. Still, this is a great little spot for food!

My family has not been to OIB in about 10 years and we were looking forward to eating here again. Somehow the food was even better than I remembered! We ordered to go, staff was super friendly and food was ready quickly even though they seemed busy. We did recieve one wrong side but it was fixed right away and they even gave us an extra for the inconvenience. Highly recommend giving them a try when youre in town, they've consistently made some of the best meals we've had on our trips.

We went in for lunch . I was thinking gyros and Greek salad, the waitress suggested a plater that had both and it was cheaper,what a great suggestion it was fantastic so good. We will be back again real soon it was that good. And the price was very reasonable I love it.

Very disappointed in this small "gourmet " restaurant. After waiting to be seated, water arrived quickly. Then after shooing the flies gathered at our window table, we waited 5 minutes for our waitress.. Food arrived 15 minutes later. Then the waitress disappeared and never came back until we were almost finished. My chicken club was large but after attempting to cut it in half, it fell apart. The flavor was good but I ended up eating it in pieces. Had avocado goo under my nails. Hubby's ham sandwich had too many onions and the bread was soggy. He asked for potato salad as his side and got macaroni salad. My side of fresh fruit was mushy and not fresh. When the waitress was told the fruit was not fresh, she snipped, well it was made this morning. It was almost 7 pm when we stopped in. She did ask if I wanted something else but by that time I didn't want anything else. She never returned. We went to the counter to pay and the girl made guesses as to what we ate before she had our correct items.
Now, people came in and out picking up take out orders so they must have known something we didn't. But if they ordered a warm sandwich like we did, it would have been a soggy mess by the time they got around to eating it. We generally tip well but this time zero. Gourmet my foot!

I have ordered take out from this place for years and always had a great experience, however today was not. I ordered the Shrimp wrap and the shrimp were gross because they tasted raw. I ordered my wrap without tomatoes & there were tomato slices. Summer took my order and promised to send their new menu but didn’t get one.
I LIVE at OIB full time and it will be a while before I spend any more money on bad food. Totally disappointed
