The curry goat is amazing I mean absolutely the best. Haven't had that much yet from there, they are closed after summer but I heard the service is good but dang is the curry goat delicious!!

Had dinner with a friend here and honestly I had mixed feelings about the place. The staff were very nice and attentive but it was very slow. There were only 2 others tables while we were there and we were there for over an hr, but it is fall and there's not many tourist right now. The food was ok but I don't think it was worth the price the portion size was fine but the food was kind of bland, but the waiter said they had to cut back on alot of their spices bc the customers couldn't handle the heat so that probably has something to do with it. The jerk chicken wings we shared were the best part of the meal. Overall the place is very nicely decorated and the staff were friendly and attentive but the food was ok

First time customer. Friends had recommended Sugar Shack but had not had the opportunity until now. I had the ribs and the meat just fell off the bone, add jerk sauce and even better. Wife had NY strip and loved it. Great service as well. Will be back!

Great food and service. Would definitely recommend the ribs and steak. Very good home made j*** sauce. Also the specialty fruit drinks are really good. Would recommend the strawberry.

Sugar Shack never disappoints! Always a must visit when in Ocean Isle. Order the steak, ribs, chicken wings, coconut shrimp and you can't go wrong. So many other delicious choices as well and don't forget to add some of their famous sauce. The slaw, which comes with the entrees, is the best around. Thanks Sugar Shack for always being our go to place!!

Sugar Shack is a unique restaurant. We have eaten here several times and have never been disappointed. Jerk Chicken is one of my favorite dishes. Get the plantains! And be sure to try the sauce that sits in every table. It’s good on everything!!! Best to be there when they open at 5:00 unless you don’t mind waiting for a spot.
We enjoyed our wonderful dinner with long time friends at Sugar Shack! First, the ambience is colorful, tropical, laid back and appealing!! We had made reservations and were seated immediately upon arrival! Second, service was impeccable!! We adored our server, Anthony! What a charming guy!! Soooo friendly, informative, funny, and just great!!! We wanted to just sit and talk to him all night! Finally, the food!! Flavorful in a Jamaican way but not spicy! I enjoyed my Curried Chicken and rice.....way too much for me to eat it all! My husband loved his steak which, indeed, had been marinating for 24 hours! Tender, cooked perfectly! The homemade berry sangria was very tasty and a nice big pour! An inviting restaurant with great food!

New place for us to try and we were happy overall! Our server was attentive and Laura, the owner, was really lovely. I have food allergies and she made sure to find out the specific ingredients in the vegetables and rice and beans. My friend said the corn bread was the best she’s ever had and really enjoyed the j*** chicken entree. I had the vegetable entree and rice and beans with a side of plantains. The plantains were delicious but the main dish lacked flavor and was pricey in comparison to the meat options, but knowing I can eat there and there was attention paid to my allergies, I’ll be back for sure.Vegetarian options: There is one entree available, rice and beans, plantains and curry rice.
