Had breakfast here today for the first time while in town. Jessica our server made us feel welcome & was very attentive. Our foo came out as we requested & coffee was overflowing. The restaurant has a good beach vibe with tons of seating inside & outside, very conveniently located & food was good what more can we ask for? I'm sure it's packed during high season but today it was very quiet. Will definitely be back when in the area again

Gaffer’s is one of those coastal North Carolina spots that just gets it—good food, friendly people, and a relaxed vibe that makes you want to hang around a little longer. From the moment we walked in, the staff was welcoming and upbeat, and we were seated quickly even though it felt nicely busy.
The menu has a little something for everyone, but it really shines if you’re in the mood for seafood and classic beach-town comfort food. Everything came out hot, fresh, and plated well. The flavors were spot on—not overly salty, not greasy, just well-seasoned and made with care. Portions were generous without feeling over the top, and the ingredients tasted quality (especially the seafood). We also appreciated that the service stayed attentive without hovering—refills showed up on time, and our server checked in just enough to make sure everything was perfect.
The atmosphere is casual and fun, the kind of place you can show up in flip-flops after a day out and feel right at home. It’s clean, well-kept, and the overall energy is exactly what you want when you’re eating near the water.
If you’re visiting the area or you’re a local looking for a reliable go-to, Gaffer’s is absolutely worth the stop. We’ll be back the next time we’re in town.

Fun! Great food! Service friendly and efficient. We had a big group event here last night. Only real complaint was that the music was so loud we could not hold a conversation at all. Music was great though! Went back for a snack today and had their shrimp nachos! Very different but delicious! I would order no red onions and half the chips next time. Great bar. My husband had a painkiller. He loved it. All rimmed up with coconut. I would recommend this place for sure!

Great food and excellent service as always. Food could use a little seasoning, but to each is own. Food was still great. The coffee (cookie latte) was sooooo good!! My only warning is do not get the Lobster Benny. It was, and I am not exaggerating, less than 1/4 cup of lobster. Between 2 Benedict muffins. For $27 I was expecting at least enough lobster for each muffin. The lobster was on the side of mine and 2 bites, I mean TWO bites. Everything else was average or big portions. Just very skimpy on the lobster.
Major prompts to our waitress who was able to go alone with my dad’s sarcastic personality and million questions about the menu. She played along with him and yet remained professional. I enjoyed my drink and the fish tacos. Would eat at again!
