The owner feels to be completely fed up to work and is not customer service oriented. She did not answer to our "good afternoon" when we entered the shop. You have to call in to order, you cannot place order at the counter and you need to pay in cash...
Bottomline, we eat at another place much more friendly...

Stopped in after finding limited vegetarian/vegan selections at a nearby place. The food was amazing. If this place was local to where we live, we would be here two or three times a week. It was delicious.

It would be impossible to say enough good things about this restaurant. To begin the person working was so friendly and inviting. We felt right at home. The food was fresh and flavorful. The pita is soft and pillowy. There are so many options it was hard to choose but everything we had was perfect. The hummus was some of the best I've ever had. They also don't skimp on harissa in dishes which include it. My pita wrap was delicious and fiery! They warned me and they were right!
If I could eat here every day I would.

Amazing food with great friendly service. My wife and I had Greek salads. Her with chicken me with lamb meatballs fantastic! We also had humus with fresh Pita. Make sure check the specials and the shrimp are locally caught.

Pro-tip… plan your Ocracoke trip around Helios’ Hideaway hours because you definitely need their fresh pita and hummus at minimum for your beach snacks, but we recommend getting a little bit of everything to share as it was all delish… our favorites… figgy pizza (seasonal special), Siren Pizza, hummus with harissa (hot but so good), hummus with pesto (seriously the best pesto!), any of the pita wraps, falafel, couscous salad sides, and baklava! We loved it all so much we made a second visit on our departure day to take some home with us! Will absolutely be back every trip to Ocracoke from now on! Also, the owner is amazing too…so friendly and top notch customer service. Thank you again!

The figgy pizza is amazing. The crust was light and crisp and the pizza had a perfect balance of lightness with sweet salty and acidic flavors. You have to try it.

We enjoyed an unseasonably comfortable late July afternoon dining outside at Helio’s Hideaway. The food did not disappoint, and the service was excellent. The lamb stew, chicken kebab over polenta, and whichever salad we ordered were so good. I would love to try other menu items in the future. The outdoor dining table, which is neither owned nor maintained by Helio’s Hideaway, was the only real detractor from our experience; The metal table had some sharp, jagged, rusty edges that could really ruin someone’s day if they weren’t paying attention.

Parking: There is a very small parking lot for the whole group of shops and restaurants. No problem if you’re traveling by bicycle or golf cart, but could fill up very quickly with actual motor vehicles.
