Besides the food being excellent, the service and atmosphere were so good and if you're visiting Oxford for the first time, you'll want to come back again. Take it from me, I've been to a lot of restaurants , some were great, some mediocre, and some just scary. UptownBar & Restaurants is only the great atmosphere. Stop by for the food and the music you'll be amazed and wanna come back.

My husband and I stopped in here during the hot sauce festival with our son my husband got burnt ends , my son and I got burgers ,my son ordered fries with his burger,at an extra cost the burger was a little larger than a hockey puck and had no condiments it did have lettuce, tomato and pickel ok you get the picture also 2 unsweetened iced teas and a vodka and cranberry. Our bill came to 75$ for one of the worst lunches. I would not recommend this place . This was our 2nd visit we were there about 3 yrs. Ago ,thought maybe it was just what we ordered . It wasn't.

I ordered the Chicken Rodeo Burger. The first ingredient said Fried Chicken Breast..... See pictures... it's one of those frozen chicken flavored "meat" patties... I could have bought a better quality Chicken sandwich from Mc Donald's for less.
Otherwise the atmosphere was nice. The chairs could use a little maintenance, mine felt like it was about to fall apart. The wait staff were nice and friendly. They handled themselves well for being busy.

First time customers, we came in for dinner and it was delicious. Appetizer of Boom Boom Shrimp was so good, just enough kick! I had the Cajun Shrimp & Grits, which were the best I've ever had - great flavor with tasty shrimp cooked just right, bacon and peppers. My BF enjoyed a dinner of Porterhouse Chop with a baked potato and salad. The chop came out with nice grill marks, great flavor and nice sauce on the side.
Will definitely return, you should try it!!

Super disappointed. We've been meaning to try this place for a while. It was a major letdown. We didn't even get to try the food because after an hour and a half of waiting, we left. We sat and watched everyone in the restaurant get their food while we waited with a hungry baby for ours. Most of the people eating came in after us and some were even completely finished eating when they came in 20 minutes after we did. After an hour and a half of waiting for food and no apology or information from the waitress, we decided to pay for our drinks and appetizer and leave. We like to try local restaurants, but this is definitely one that we are marking off the list.

My husband and I came here for a Friday date night and loved it! The food was excellent, full of flavor. I asked for a drink recommendation and Maurice made me an Uptown Mary-absolutely delicious and proceeds go to an excellent cause in honor of the great woman it is named after! We started w the boom boom shrimp which had some heat to them but were too tasty to stop eating. I had the rodeo burger w fries and hubs got the 8oz ribeye special w side salad and loaded mash potatoes. Amazing dinner, the steak was seasoned and cooked to perfection. Ranch alone was worth ordering a salad for. We will definitely be coming back!
EDIT TO ADD: Came back May 2024 on a Friday with some girlfriends to celebrate a birthday! The BBQ glaze salmon should be against the law! I am a mac and cheese snob (dont like chik fila, cracker barrel, texas roadhouse, hardly NONE) and this mac and cheese was the bomb! Squash n zucchini was delicious as well. Everybody left full and satisfied AND the live talent sang my friend Happy Birthday ❤️ It was a great night, soon to return!

First time eating here and it was just ok. It's hard finding good restaurants in this area and we had higher hopes. We were a party of 4 and three of the meals were overcooked and dry. Honestly, the best thing about dinner was my mac and cheese. The bar had an especially boisterous patron that had to make sure the entire restaurant heard her side of the conversations. The live music was pleasant, playing and singing jazzy Christmas tunes. Our server was fine, but needed reminding. It's a small establishment with high ceilings so a loud bar can quickly drown out any conversation you may try to have while seated at a table. Like I said, it was just ok... not a place we will be rushing back to.
