My husband and I went for Valentines Dinner. They advertised on FB and we figured we would give them a try. Unfortunately we did not have a good experience. When we first got there we were not greeted and had to stand around waiting for almost 10 minutes before being acknowledged even though several staff walked by us. Mind u they requested u make reservations. When we finally got sat, they decided to sit us at the only two top table in the place along the window. Even though there were several 4 top tables that were empty and one the remained empty the entire time we were there. The service was not organized. We were not offered a drink menu/or drink specials. The music was too loud. The potato soup was delicious and the bang bang shrimp was good. My chicken was tasty, Mac and cheese was good as well. My husband’s prime rib was over cooked, (server did not even ask how he wanted it cooked) and was not served with any au jus or sauce. Then the cheese cake was still half frozen. When we asked for clean forks to eat dessert the server gave us plastic to-go forks. When you pay $60 PP you expect a certain level of service. Especially for Valentine’s Day.
Maybe on a normal day with their normal menu it would have been fine.
But if you are going to do something like this, be better prepared.

I normally don't leave a Google review but let's just say this restaurant checked off all the boxes with their great hospitality (especially Shakki- I think that's his name and I know it's not the correct spelling) his drinks(Uptown Mary)were amazing and customer service was awesome. I'll definitely be looking for him when I go back. Lol... To the cooks- the food was AMAZING. Everything was seasoned just right from the lamb chops, to the mashed potatoes and the collards. The shrimp and grits was like no other. I had a great experience from the moment I walked in until the moment I left. Another thing the bathroom was clean, clean, clean. You gained a faithful customer. I will be back. My rating goes beyond a 5/5 y'all did not disappoint. Thanks again

We’ve only lived In Oxford a few months and have been excited to try the local restaurants. Last night was our first visit to Uptown, but it is definitely going to be followed by many more!
The food (ribeye steaks, boom boom shrimp and an AMAZING sweet potato cheesecake) and the drinks (martini, Cabernet Savignon, mixed drink) were absolutely delicious.
The staff was so friendly and knowledgeable.
And the ambience was perfect, thanks to a smooth jazz playlist by the bartender, Courtney.
I highly recommend Uptown and can’t wait to go back!!

My husband and I love coming here for date night! The servers are always so friendly and knowledgeable and the food is delicious! We recommend the boom boom shrimp appetizer and that you try their specialty cocktails- you might find a new favorite! The Texas hold’em whiskey sour opened up a new world for me as I don’t normally enjoy dark liquor.

Have eaten here twice. Great service, fresh greens, nice place. The Alfredo sauce was over-the-top good, and the lamb chops and steak were tender and cooked to perfection another member of our party had the salmon sandwich and it was really good. Sides were fresh and hearty, collards were good. Hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. Check the hours before you go, only open four days a week

Was looking for a nice spot to have dinner while visiting family and found this little gem! I ordered the chicken breast with gravy, and a side of Mac n cheese, and collard greens. OMG!!! So delicious!!! The collards were flavored with so well, chicken was tender and juicy. The gravy and greens both had a slight bit of spicy kick, and the mac n cheese was just as good as grandma’s!! The wife had a hamburger and was about an inch thick hand made, and mom had a salad with grilled chicken! This is a must try y’all!
We love this place - we stop here every time we are at n Oxford (monthly). Our current favorite are the lamb chops. But everything has always been wonderful. We love Courtney, who crafts amazing drinks. This place is definitely Oxford’s treasure.

I just stopped there tonight with my family from North Augusta, SC. It was our first time visiting this great venue. The atmosphere was very cool, laid back, and friendly. The food was superb and the sweet tea was easily top 10 I've had since my grandma passed away 20+ years ago.

The choice of background music was not something I'd normally listen to, and the choice of decor could use an upgrade. However, having said that, the food and service were excellent! I'd go back just for that. Hope they continue to grow their clientele!

Food 10/10 Drinks 10/10 Chocolate cake 10/10 If you want upscale and local- this restaurant is for you. Everything was delicious and the Mary cocktail was strong. The chocolate cake with ice cream was moist, tasty, and not too sweet. Not pictured is a grilled cheese from the kids menu and baby loved it.
