Very old and dirty environment. My food took a long time when I got a cheeseburger with lettuce. The staff is also very rude and doesn’t care about if customers need a refill. Overpriced food for what you get if you ask me. McDonald’s has a better burger.

This is a sad depressing place to visit. The young lady that served us was very pleasant. She was the only good thing about this place. This is definitely a place for the elderly crowd. When you first walk in you will notice all of the sad "in memoriam" type stuff. Next is the dining room of only elderly (not a problem, just painting a picture for you). The buffet food was terrible. The selection left a lot to be desired. All of the food was terribly bland. The vegetables had the taste and texture of being slid out of a can right into the tray. If they are not canned, then they must have been aiming for that taste and texture and succeeded. Nothing had flavor. Maybe the crowd they serve can't have salt so they leave everything flavorless? Please note that the good reviews they do get (which is why we tried this place) are regarding their breakfast. The layer of dust on the fans over head is unbelievable. Cleanliness is not their strong point either. Very unkept. Want a place with good ambiance and good food? Go somewhere else.

The food was bland and horrible only 3 meats in the buffet , fried chicken which was soggy and no flavor. Meatballs that seem to be just soaking in water and Grease about NO FLAVOR! And chicken pot pie, had some flavor but after one plate my stomach was hurting, The vegetables are all canned and no flavor once again. Very Very Disappointed. They had good sweet tea. Service was polite and attentive but never asked how things were, I think she knew the food was horrible.

A fantastic breakfast on Easter. You can never go wrong with country ham, eggs, and coffee. The service is what really stood out to me here. Respectful, charming, and attentive. My coffee was never empty and they never hesitated to ask if we needed anything else. Definitely coming back next time I'm in the area.

The pancakes were not "light and fluffy". Plus, the egg shell did not help. Food was basic but at a very good price point.

When I first walked in, I had no idea how anything worked, so I asked the lady at the counter. She was very polite and informative and made me feel very comfortable. When I decided, i was going to dine in I proceeded to a table and took a seat. Waitress never came. I then proceeded to the the buffet. M Made a plate and sat back down.My waitress never came not once to check on me or ask me if I wanted anything to drink. Nor bring me any silver. I had to walk up to her and ask her for a glassof water and silverware. She then did not proceed to apologize. Nor ask me if I needed anything else. The food was good, especially for the price. It's country home cooked comfort food. And you have a pretty decent variety I was a little piglet and I. Enjoyed my meal. I paid a little over $13 for the buffet which I had a cup of cheddar broccoli soup. I had I piece of I believe catfish small salad mashed potatoes with gravy and green beans With a couple of Hush Puppies. I. Enjoyed my meal but as I am a server myself. I was a little annoyed with not being waited on myself.

About Surry county and their ground steak sandwiches that they are famous for in our state magazine. I decided to drive the short distance to the neighboring county and eat at Cousin Gary's restaurant. My waitress Lindsey was super nice and very helpful as I told her what I was there for. I did get the ground steak sandwich with fries and corn nuggets and was very surprised. This sandwich was really really good, like a sloppy joe but without the sauce. As I was getting ready to leave I saw a sign that said best fried chicken in town and Lindsay confirmed that was true. I did order two pieces to go once I got home I ate one and it was really super good. If you are anywhere near Surry county and want to try the sandwich they're famous for definitely check out Cousin Gary's. I couldn't imagine a better place
