I noticed this place today and gave it a shot. I was unfamiliar with the menu, Kan, the owner, helped me order two dishes and an appetizer. The flavor of the food is something I've never tasted. I will return.
The food is absolutely delicious and never disappoints. Highly, HIGHLY recommend the Chikkar Cholay and the sesame naan!!!! The owner of the restaurant is very kind and has even recommended things for us to try when we haven't had an idea of what to order. Zauq is one of our favorite little spots in Pineville and I hope that you try it out!!It's also great for takeout if interested.
I bought chicken curry and on getting home only to find 3 little piece of chicken drumstick in a meal that I was charged $28 for. I called the restaurant to ask why I only got such small meat but I was told that’s how they sell it. I was so disappointed & felt duped. I’ll never go back again!
Food is good, the person on register dealing with customers is very rude, unprofessional and looks like he doesnt want anyone to come inside the resturant or he hates the owner and trying his best to shut down the resturant.Never coming back here for sure.
Wish I could give zero stars. Came here with my mom to pick up an order of 12 Seekh Kabobs. Price on the website and the menu in the restaurant was $36.99. Charged us $47. They gave us only 8 kabobs. Went in to let them know the number of the kabobs were wrong and the price too and the man at the front counter was extremely rude, I believe he is the owner. Told us that we shouldn’t go off of the price listed on the website or the menu they have in store. If the owner’s attitude is the way it is why would anyone want to come here? This will be the last time we come here. We won’t deal with dishonest and rude people.
I thought they read customer reviews and try to improve themselves as a part of continuous improvement. I stopped by this place on Sunday 12/19/2021 while coming from Michigan. Chicken Malai boti directly goes to the bin as whole dish was uncooked. Outer side looks cooked but as you bite it’s all uncooked. Qorma is basically Stew, not Qorma but reasonable for eating.
I think the picture speaks for itself. I got takeout… they gave me a bowl of grease.
Love their Halwa Poori and tikkey!
Just had the most expensive but most mediocre shahi paneer ever. 5 pieces of smelly paneer for $15.99 ordered through doordash. As a customer and regular at south asian restaurants in the country I found this prohibitively expensive. And i also received plain naan although i paid for butter naan. Hopefully going by other reviews mine is an exception. But this poor review will stay and prevent me from recommending this joint.
Old food served. Naan was so crunchy and hard you could tell definitely it wasn't fresh. Sauce was also bad. Not going there again. Been there twice before and was named Zafran. Food wasn't bad at that time. Now with same interior different name and bad food.

First and the last time. The party of ten people traveled to this restaurant from High point but were very disappointed. The whole platter of chicken and beef was uncooked with foul smell. the owner was informed but he did not apologized and not offered to replace it. Charged $398 for 10 people ($40 per head) unbelievable cost for such a poor food.
This place have dishes that I rarely find so authentic, unbelievable sheek kabobs and Lahori Channa, true gem.Portions are great and very reasonable prices.
Dirty, disgusting and bad food with by a rude owner. We have showed him the hair in our food and owner did not even apologize. This is the first time we have left a restaurant without finishing our food. We had to pay the full price without a single apology. Their specialty(recommended by the owner) was boiled bones in broth. When I complained if this is how it is supposed to be with no meat, he pointed the little meat stuck on the bone. Pakistanis should ask him to remove “pakistani food” from the description.
Was on my way to get Dinner at a Peruvian restaurant and noticed this small restaurant and made a U turn. I decided to give them a try and was impressed. The food was delicious and probably the best Indian I’ve had. People were great too! The best food is usually never at a huge glamorous restaurant. Mom and pops all the way!
Great food. One of the most authentic desi food in town. I love their chicken sheek kabab, chilly chicken etc. Super delicious! Why I am leaving a 3/5 rating? Last couple of times when I picked my food from the restaurant, no one was following any pandamic protocols. No masks, no social distancing etc in a very cozy restaurant. This makes me nervous going there and I will wait for the pandamic to settle down before ordering from here again.Edit - 5 stars. I have been to Zauq multiple times after leaving the previous rating. They are following all the protocols now. So I can enjoy all the great food with better peace of mind. Thanks for listening, you guys are great.
