The restaurant is super cute but not eco friendly - we specifically asked for no plastic and were told they could make that work since we were eating there but both of our salads arrived in huge plastic containers with more plastic inside. Quite disappointing ?Vegetarian options: Some vegetarian options, just read the menu closely

We enjoyed pancakes just the way I like them simple....but plentiful.... scrabbled eggs with crispy bacon. Friendly people & a nice selection of specialty provisions to purchase.

Got a salad to go, it was good but overpriced but it's Fearrington, so that's expected, but the service and service plan needs attention! They are open for breakfast but lunch items can't be prepared until after 12:00pm. To go orders have to picked up outside at a pick up window that feels very around the corner and behind the building. I got the text that my order was ready, walked outside in the cold and had to ring the bell 3 times before anyone came to the window. I was handed my order - dressing perched on top - no bag, no fork, no napkin. I had to go back inside and wait in line at the coffee counter to get a fork. And of course, when I placed the order I was prompted to leave a tip. For whom? The kitchen team who be ready to serve lunch? For the person who put my order in? For the guy who handed me my order after I waited but shut the window before I could ask for a bag, fork, or napkin? You can do better.

Fearrington is a great place to visit and if you're walking around and need a bite to eat, this is the spot. Regardless of breakfast or lunch, the food is great. Can never go wrong with a grilled cheese and soup! They also have a separate mercantile area with a ton of specialty items. Great to look through if you need a gift for someone or even a nice bottle of wine to bring to an event (or crack open at home if that's your thing). I really wanted to like the coffee better. I ordered a vanilla latte and for some reason it tasted a bit off, maybe they used sugar free syrup? Maybe next time I'll forgo a coffee and choose from their beverage fridge.

This is nothing like what The Granary used to be. Now you wait in long line to place an order, get your own drinks, go find a table, and wait for your food to be delivered. The food comes in plastic containers, which is unacceptable for a place that cost $52 for two people to eat lunch. The tomato soup was almost as good as Campbell's canned soup. The fries were old, cold, and not served with the soup and sandwiches we ordered. The order took 45 minutes to come to our table which by the way was dirty and we had to wipe it off. The reuben sandwich was served on White Bread, the do-it-yourself salad came in a giant clam shell and did not contain the advertised products. The dressing was completely inedible and I had to go down and ask for a different dressing. I wish we had read the more recent reviews before we actually went here, but we were remembering a fun Village with good restaurants that simply does not exist anymore.

The staff was very nice. Had the western omelette. It was terrible. The egg was so over cooked it had the texture of shoe leather. There was a very unappetizing diced ham topping which had no flavor and looked like vomit on the eggs. If I ever return I’ll stick with a croissant and coffee.

I am leaving a 2 star review and it is ALL due to the staff. I have NEVER witnessed more self absorbed, incredibly lazy people in my life. My friend and I were in on December 13th at 3;30-4:30 in the afternoon. At the time we were in the Belted Goat there were NO other customers waiting to check out. She was with one register and I another. The lazy one checking me out just clanged two mugs together into my bag, $15 each mugs and told me if I didn't hit any speed bumps going home I should be fine. I said well, I still would prefer they be wrapped. They then sighed and made a huge ordeal to get the tissue paper where they barely put one piece on each mug and nothing to decorate the gift bag that had coffee and other things. My friend had the same scenario in her line and the 3 workers were too busy talking to each other to be bothered. In addition, they looked unclean and their shirts were too small and needed replacing. Made the whole experience just gross. It really is a shame since the patio, gift & food selection, general appearance and location are really well thought out. I would not have my hard work that I put into a business dragged down by these incompetent individuals. You need to re-evaluate your staff.

So charming with wonderful food, and a great selection of products and delicious takeout. On the more expensive side but to be expected given the location, quality and atmosphere. Well worth the price. Someone commented on plastic cups, plastic cups are required if you’re taking it outside. Otherwise they do have glasses available. They are happy to help.

Review of the coffee only: Unfortunately this cafe does not offer specialty coffee. The milk is steamed far too long with too much foam. You will not get creamy milk texture in your drink. The menu should be cause for concern as well since traditional cafe drinks are offered in small and large sizes. While this has become the norm, it needs to change. The small macchiato on the menu came in a 12 oz cup. This should be a 3 oz beverage. Unfortunately I could not taste the coffee because of all the foam. I am more than willing to change my review if improvements are made. The name of the drink should dictate the size and match traditional cafe standards. The menu should not have small and large options for cappuccinos and macchiatos. They should be 6oz and 3oz respectively. The milk should be properly steamed and not scalded. I do hope this review is taken as constructive criticism. I really do enjoy the location and ambiance. It would be nice if the coffee could make minor improvements.

The tomato basil bisque was divine - would love to have the recipe! The Rueben was simply awful. In addition to being cool rather than warm, the sandwich was on a nondescript, seemingly stale bread (not rye as promised, and not well grilled), with an "off" taste like rancid oil. The sparse amount of corned beef was flavorless and half-inedible due to the amount of gristle. The cheese was dry and tasteless, and I had to look to see if there was even sauerkraut and and sauce present. By far the worst sandwich I've had in my 70+ years, and my companion was in full agreement. Unfortunately, the side "greens", which were fresh and lovely, had a dressing on them that was so subtle (lacking flavor) that we decided to pass on it. My companion had traveled from Greensboro to visit Fearrington, and I'm embarrassed at the lunch I treated (more like subjected) her to. SO disappointing, for a charming restaurant otherwise.

Great Place, definitely recommend. Our only comment would be to have more service personnel inside or outside when you seat yourself for things that you may need.

Worst omelette my wife and I’ve had!!! The eggs were rubbery like they were microwave. We each had one bite and tossed the rest in the trash. Big waste money. I almost asked for my money back but decided to write this instead.I never write reviews but I hope they improve because it was horrible.

My Mother and sister visited us in Chapel Hill and we thought it would be a nice short trip to get sandwiches here. WRONG! Horrible service and waited at least 45 minutes to be served. Mother served after us so we had to give her some of our food while waiting. Really? Service could barely be worse. This is on Oct 28 at about 12:30. It was so upsetting to wait so long it sort of ruins the meal and atmosphere. Food was okay.
