THE HEADLESS FISH MARKET BAY BROS My husband and son went into Bay Brothers Seafood today May 30th to purchase some fresh fish.....They noticed that the heads had been cut off, and they inquired about that. Bay bros told them that they needed to call a day in advance if they wanted the heads on the fish. Although it sounded odd, they purchased them anyway. When they got home, the flesh of the fish had started to break down. They had a bad odor to them. They immediately returned the fish and was told Bay Bros. don't give refunds. They saw a sign stating not to ask for fresh fish from the back, because their fish is always fresh. We found out the hard way that this is not TRUE! Our son laid the old, smelly fish on the counter, told them to have a blessed day and walked out.

I love Bay Bros Seafood— best establishment in Plymouth in my opinion! They have a huge selection of fresh caught, local fish here, but they also serve hot plate lunches daily which is where I really found my niche here. I will even stop in to get a whole sheet pan of a shrimp/seafood boil for an office lunch feeding a crew and Stephen Jr here at Bay Bros will personally carry it to my vehicle for me as soon as it’s ready. Sometimes I call in before they even open so I can pick it up in the same day as soon as their business opens, and it’s never a problem. Truly quick and reliable service… with a smile- which is rare these days.
I love dealing with these guys. 10/10

Missed the fresh crabs for the day and soft shell crabs by about two weeks. But nice selection of fresh and frozen seafood. Steamed shrimp smelled so good. Was travelling, picked up some frozen spot and soft shell crabs.
Two guys working were super friendly, we shared a few recipes and enjoyed our stop. If I make it back through Plymouth will stop again.

The worst place to visit for fresh fish! As long as I have waited to have easy access to fresh fish in our town I have to result back to going to Nixon's Fishery in Edenton...Here at Bay Brothers they will stand you down their fish just came in that morning and clearly the eyes are gray, the raw flesh flakes up while cleaning, they'll vacuum seal the package so you can't smell the fish...the fish smell rotten and the blood is black....and when I said I was gonna make a review they didn't seem to care...so if anyone plans to still support this business I would like for you to know this isn't because I'm anger and trying to fight fire for fire...the fish I brought only came up to about $4.50 it wasn't the money, it was the principle...business is business...customer service is everything....I wasted more precious time and gas because the owner wasn't there when I came back with the fish so I had to wait until Monday so that was two trips not including the day of purchase...still to have my issue unresolved...I return the fish and neither did I want any money back just and apology and maybe a pick of something much fresher if any....instead the dad chose to flex in front of his kids whom he employed and showed JUST the opposite of how to handle a situation as such and give proper customer service...I let him have his star cause if there was an option of giving none...NONE he would get...Hope this help someone before it's to late...learn from my mistake...that's why Plymouth can't have nothing...Buy nothing from nothing leaves nothing

The absolute best quality fresh sea food around! They have bulk options too which is perfect for a clam bake, BBQ or large party gathering. They have everything from bacon wrapped scallops, so many types of fish(cut in differnt ways), and Alaskan crab legs to shrimp. I stopped in a few times after being told about them. I was impressed with the customer service and exceptionally friendly staff. They have bait for fishing too! (Thank you to the young man at the counter and in back wokring on 7/1/2024 around 1:30 for the story about the blue fish! )
