This is one of 2 really good cafes at the museum of science in Raleigh. The museum is free and it is great having these cafes on site for lunch so you don't have to leave and interrupt your museum visit. The museum is so big that we took 2 days to visit and explore it so we ate at this cafe on our second day and the "Daily Planet" cafe on our first day. Both places are very good, convenient, reasonable prices, and friendly staffed. We enjoyed trying both places...
Visited on a Sunday, seemed to have anything on the menu although I didn't ask. Had the chicken salad wrap. Was pretty good, very large serving with fruit. Price was ok but if I had my entire family of four we could have exceeded $40 on lunch. Food was enough we could have split it. Staff was very friendly. No problem with seating, but it was Sunday. Right next to butterfly exhibit which was pretty cool.
When you go to a museum, aquarium, etc, food prices are going to be a bit higher - the rent, you know! It's the same everywhere so you might as well get used to it or plan to eat before or after. The nice thing about Acro was that the food was really quite appealing and tasty if a bit museum pricey.
