Great service, incredibly bland food. 2 of 3 dishes we got were incredibly bland.

The food wasn’t bad, but the king crab roll was pretty much just rice and avocado, same with the eel roll- the fish/crab not visible. The chirashi bowl was light on fish. The service was fine but the food was disappointing.

Went here for dinner around 5pm on a Saturday and we were immediately greeted and sat. Within the 10 minutes of being there, 3 different parties were sat and brought waters to, all the while we had yet to even be greeted. Really disappointed because we were looking forward to trying this spot. That service -or lack thereof- was so distasteful.

Didn’t get a beer I paid for, haven’t liked the food the two times I’ve been in the past few years. Very cold inside every time the door opens had to put my jacket on. Staff was friendly but our service could’ve been better.

I would give 0 star if I could. I went in 11:05 and waited for half an hour after ordering but nothings ready. I had to leave for my appointment without eating anything.

Ajisai has become my favorite sushi restaurants in Raleigh due to the excellent service, comfortable and lively atmosphere, and the welcoming staff. The owner Joy makes an effort to come by each table, and it makes a huge difference in customers wanting to return. I highly recommend the Gyoza, Volcano Roll, the Manhattan Roll, and Mochi for dessert. Awesome spot in Village District!

We enjoyed our food. Would maybe order it to go another time. Our experience wasn’t as good. We were told there was a 20/30 minute wait, that we could start outside near the heaters and when a table became available inside, we could move inside. We were brought menus and water outside and then no one ever came back outside.I had to go inside and ask if someone was coming to take our order, when I noticed an empty table inside. I asked if we could sit there. They told us we could and they’d pull another table up so we had space. That never happened. 3 of us at a two person table. Finally got food and drinks ordered, and when the food came, our server noticed a bigger table open and told us to move there. Once there, it was forever until any one came back around. Everyone else had pitchers of water at their table for them to refill themselves. We did not. We didn’t have silverware when our food came. I tried to flag another waiter down just to bring us forks, he looked at me and turned and walked the other way and answered the phone at the host stand instead. Our server was good, he was just really busy. We appreciated him. This just wasn’t a good experience for us. We enjoyed the food. But the service just wasn’t there for us. And to make it worse, other people got greeted very cheerfully and welcomed, and we just felt like we were not really welcome there and just forgotten about. It was my husbands birthday and a Sunday, so we didn’t want to start over with a wait another place so we stayed.

At 68, this is the best meal I have ever eaten in my life. We ordered the Peking Duck 24 hrs. in advance, and oh my gosh, I can not describe the luxury of this cuisine. We are foodies from way back, and it was a real delicacy. Drinks were superb and Scott our waiter was excellent. Can't wait to go back!
