Well.. I had my opinion about this place and the reviews below seem to be right on point. Today was my first time trying ArmadilloGrill. I was starving so I figured “Mexican “ food couldn’t go wrong. Wrong!! lol not impressed at all. Now the Wings was good (I had them cooked well).The guacamole, salsa and pico was very disappointing. I’m actually surprised how bland it was and the pico was Old ( clearly ) and the salsa was… like watery . Guacamole umm I just added salt...
To begin, I really enjoy the way this place lets you build your own taco. It's a good way to pick the toppings and type of taco you want and be able to know up-charges for toppings you'll incur. The service here was good, the man behind the counter was very polite and we had good conversation while I waited for takeout. The food was good but honestly not great. Chicken was a bit dry and the pico I ordered on the side tasted a bit old. I will try this place again but...
Last week, I was staying in Raleigh at the Hampton Inn, which is right around the corner from Armadillo Grill. It was lunchtime and I was super starved, and remembered seeing the Armadillo Grill on my walk around Glenwood Ave the night before. I called them up and just asked if I could place an order so I could run up and get it quickly, as I was working remotely in the hotel room.
