We had our wedding at The Big Easy. From the moment we arrived, the team at The Big Easy made us feel welcome and cared for. Gilbert and Steve went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly, and their attention to detail truly stood out. The entire staff worked together seamlessly, creating an atmosphere that was both inviting and professional. The service was not only efficient but also delivered with genuine warmth, which made our experience memorable. It’s rare to find a venue where every member of the team is so committed to excellence, but The Big Easy has achieved just that. Thank you, Gilbert, Steve, and the staff, for making our time at The Big Easy exceptional. We look forward to returning and highly recommend this venue to anyone seeking outstanding service paired with a welcoming environment.

The wife took me here for my birthday and it was a wonderful vibe. Food was awesome and the staff was very friendly. Also didn't have to wait on the food very long. Definitely would recommend this place
Went to The Big Easy for dinner tonight, had 6:45 reservations. Been a few years since we”d been and we won’t be back. Walked in and the host mumbled something that I couldn’t understand and then began paying more attention to a group of folks that came in behind us that were “.walk-ins”( no reservations). Finally he pointed at a table and told us to go sit there.. at least that’s what I think he said. So we took our seats and sat there while several of the wait staff walked past us for way too long. I actually flagged one of them down and asked if someone was assigned to our table. She didn’t know. The four of us at that point decided if it was taking that long to get waited on, getting the food was gonna take a miracle so we got up and left. Didn’t used to be that way.
Would never go back. Had reservations, host mumbled when we walked in and turned around. Another group walked in without reservations and got more service / attention than we did. Eventually a host pointed to a table and said something but you couldn’t hear him for the mumbling. Finally a host headed towards a table without saying anything. We asked were we supposed to follow you? He mumbled yeah. Told him we couldn’t hear anything they were saying. He raised voice slightly and asked if we wanted water. Sat there for 20+ minutes with no acknowledgment from anyone. Finally stopped someone and asked who our server was, she said she didn’t know. She then asked host who our server was and he shook his head and said he didn’t know either. Needless to say we walked out. Not a single employee acknowledged us as we walked out, including one of the hosts that was outside smoking when we walked by.
The food was good. First time trying Creole. Staff was pleasant and prompt for a walk in of 5.
Kid-friendliness: They have a kids menu as well.

Went with friends and we all agreed that it was good. My one friends Mac n cheese tasted a little strange compared to my other friends, not sure why. We got the crab dip and I’d go again and just get that an a drink.
I walked into this great looking place and stood front and center at the please wait here to be seated sign. Four ladies then walked in behind me and stood in line directly behind me. The hostess walked right in front of me and helped each lady standing behind me. Then, the looked at me and said “You want an eat?”. I was a white male and all of these women, including the hostess, were African Americans. This was very blatant and obvious. I told her that she was wrong and then walked out of the establishment. I am leaving out other details that would further my experience, but please know that this event was by no means, subjective, it was obvious.
we were in the mood for some New Orleans flavored food so decided to try The Big Easy. it’s a bar + restaurant so we sat at the bar and had lower expectations of the food we got the fried green tomato and pimento cheese sandwich with a side of gouda grits. my friend got the shrimp and oyster poboy with the alligator bites to start and red beans as a side. the gouda grits were great, the poboy was good, the alligator bites were decent but salty, the sandwich was good but needed a bit more flavor and the red beans needed work overall a nice relaxed ambiance with better than expected food
Honestly, the Big Easy should be rechristened the Big Disappointment. I had always heard REALLY good things about this restaurant. but on Thursday last week it was so disappointing that me and my dinner companion called it quits after one round of drinks and a not impressive appetizer. Slow bar service (it was NOT busy). Sticky table. Unimpressive app. really disappointing. And the bill was over $30, for one cocktail, one draft beer special, and one order of fried green tomatoes app. Silliness. never again. did I mention the nasty stale bar/garbage stench that permeated the dining room? um no. not unless you're looking for overpriced late night drunken bar food options maybe.

Decent lunch & good beer. We popped in as couldn’t get in where were hoping for, but a good alternative. Crab cake sandwich was excellent, & Turkey & bacon melt made to my wife’s (fussy) request was excellent too!
Me and my child was in their restaurant and she had got done eating she decided she wanted to explore new things the manger walks up to me and say I’m not running a daycare I’m running a restaurant I was totally offended he then rolled his eyes and walked off well I decided to stop by the next day before court and I ordered my food when my child was done she ran behind the bar I popped her and we left because the bar tender was giving us all types of nasty looks then the manger has a nerve to say people are complaing abt me poppin my child and they are reviewing the cameras which is great because My grandmother had contacted our lawyer so we can see the footage and show the public how blacks are served last and their food is very little portion I have videos to prove the racist behavior and they lied nobody complained they just wanted to have something to say they are very nasty to black people and I wouldn’t recommend eating here at all very very rude place but I can say the owner of the place is very respectful ! I wish I could speak with him because my grandmother is not happy about this situation an we have contacted our lawyer once again you don’t play with peoples children
So good I ate here twice during a conference I attended. Short city walk from convention center and nearby hotels. Sausage red beans and rice were excellent with just the right flavors. Next visit, I had the Jambalaya Pasta and it is OUTSTANDING! Loads of chunks of chicken, ham and sausage, just the right amount of spice and creamy sauce. You HAVE TO try it! Great service and very attentive. Also, much more affordable than other places nearby. All around winner!
I found this bar on the internet after looking for any speakeasies in Raleigh and this bar came up in the search results. So, since we were in the area, I thought it would be good to stop in and check it out. Although it was not a speakeasy, it was a nice bar and quite large for a downtown venue. The host welcoming us was very helpful in getting us to a table, unfortunately the bar service wasn't equally helpful. It was quite apparent that there was a bit of disorganization behind the bar, and with two bartenders I would assume they would be able to keep up. After we finally got our drinks, I figured it would be best to ask for the check right away, assuming that would also take some time. The drinks were fine and the location is good. Cheers!
We had lunch at The Big Easy on Saturday. It was not crowded but service was a bit slow. The menu is a bit limited and expensive but there was enough variety. I had the seafood platter with blackened catfish, fried oysters and fried shrimp. It came with fries and cole slaw. Husband and son had seafood gumbo and jambalaya. We had an appetizer of wings, despite my vote for alligator bites. We have been to New Orleans and found this food to be just as good. Husband says there's no need to return to New Orleans- we can just come here. Waiters were very polite, though slow. Atmosphere is quaint- brick walls, wooden floors. They have a bar. Conveniently located about 2 blocks from a parking deck.
