It was 3:50 pm on Sunday 11/24/2024. The Dr. took our loved elder for some even more tests, we have been in WakeMed since Sunday 11/17/24. My wife has not left her mom’s side since 11/17.
So as they took mom for more tests and we had not eaten anything since last night around 8 pm. We decided to go to the cafeteria at WakeMed.
The only warm food was Mexican rice/beans/chicken etc. and a taco station.
The sign said that a plate was around 4-5$ and a side was $1.50.
Got to the line, first question from the cashier who was talking to two other cafeteria women this is around 4 pm “You have to show me what’s inside,”. I said it is a plate of food from the warm food bar. She said “but I need to see it”. So I opened up my stirafom container and showed it to her. Then showed the side of tortilla with fixing in a small plastic container. Then another big lady standing there asked a question, which I can not remember, at the same time the cashier asked another question…
I mean really? For what we are going thru.. just charge me and let us eat. Please Stop the harassment. Yes! I felt we were harassed.
So we left the food in the counter by the cashier and told them they can keep their food.
Hospital Staff should know how to interact with people especially if we are at a hospital. You do not know what others are going thru. So be polite and ask questions. You do not have to Integrate my food. And harass.
I will say as many times I have been to the cafa the lady at the burger counter is sweet and kind. Wish other two ladies will learn from her.

The best hospital food I've ever had. I know that's not saying much since the hospital food stereotype is not good, but Café3000 is really different compared to some of the other more generic ones I have visited. They have a Bores Head theme deli where you can make some great sandwiches. The hot grill section is always serving great food cooked fresh in front of you while you wait in line. I suggest the pancakes for breakfast, they are the bomb dot com! If you find yourself at the open grill for lunch or dinner, I would suggest the hot dogs (A.T.W. of Course)!, and every day is a different theme for mainly the employees but serves everyone. I really enjoy Chick-fil-A day, nothing g beats being in a hospital for respiratory failure and your wife is able to bring you a chicken sandwich with some Chick-fil-A sauce and one of their catering brownies! Thanks Café3000 for making my stays in the hospital feel a little more at home!P.S. If you actually read all this thanks and I am not sure if I used the correct spelling or not with the word course in my piece so I flipped a coin and it landed on heads so I went with the "U" instead of the "A" lol.

For a cafe located in the hospital, was very good. A selection of pre made sandwiches, salads, etc. But also selection for hot food and freshly made subs. I never wish for anyone to need to be at the hospital, but if you find yourself there, this is a good place to gather your thoughts and get something to eat.

It was a nice Saturday afternoon. We were signed up for a birth and labor class. Were given a 1 hr lunch break and found this Cafeteria. It is a classic hospital cafeteria with plenty of different options. Pizza, sushi, burgers, salad bar, hot bar, coffee, ice cream, waters, sodas, energy drinks, and even chic fil a sandwiches and nuggets. The prices are good as well, 1 chic fil a sandwich, 2 orders of nuggets, big sparkling water, and a salad for $23.They had a ton of seating inside and some outdoor seating in a covered setting. The best option in the hospital, otherwise it’s a Panera or vending machines.

Came here for a same day surgery for my son to grab a small bite to eat. Was pretty impressed with the quality of food and pricing. Food was very decent for hospital food.

I haven't been to many in-hospital cafeterias before but I've eaten here a number of times while visiting my girlfriend who had several surgeries. Cafe' 3000 rocks! They serve pizzas, burgers, hot dogs, deli sandwiches, fresh baked pastries, ice creams, Italian ices, and even full course meals. Everything was delicious! I highly recommend Café 3000!
