Carolina Sushi and Roll

To be fair, this was my first time ordering at this restaurant. I ordered togo about 45 mins before closing. Based on reviews, I'm pretty sure I just ordered a less popular dish that isn't made often (or came on the wrong day). Chirashi is my go to for most sushi places; it is essentially a sashimi combo on rice. It wasn't the worst, but it fell short of the standard of most places.

I would say most places typically give about 1:1 or 1:1.5 protein to rice. Close to $30, I would expect at least 12oz of toppings . This was around 10oz toppings and 32oz of rice (1:3). 75% of the volume was rice and iceberg lettuce. For comparison, the place across capital blvd would almost be 50% more toppings and half the amount of rice.

The service was very friendly. Will give another chance.

Best sushi I have ever had. Got two of the bald priced full rolls: California with crab on top and crunchy shrimp. Very reasonably priced too! Was $18 total with a Diet Coke. Love love love this place.

Busy menu, not enough roll choices, no cucumber salad. Waited for over 1 hr for food to arrive. When it did, Was expecting raw fish most of what was on my rainbow roll was smoked.. The miso soup was way to salty. If you're looking for Japanese soda it's not here. Getting a refill on drinks was took forever eventually we flagged her down.. The price was way to much for what you get.. We have been to many sushi restaurants and this was by far the worst. There was no free edamame, or cheesecake like all other sushi restaurants.
Will not be returning.

A great spot for sushi and some Asian foods. It looks like a family owned place, and it is a cozy and comfy spot. The lady is always so friendly and accommodating. The food is very nice! The place is kids friendly as well. They seem to have a lot of returning costumers.

I thoroughly enjoyed my first experience here. I ordered a Volcano Roll which had an abundance of crab on top. The wait was only about 15 minutes and the customer service was amazing. The staff was very nice and the restaurant was spotless.

I regret being swayed by the good reviews. I was in the area and wanted sushi, so I dropped in for a quick bite. I ordered two specials. Instead of proper rolls, I got a mound of rice covered in various sauces with a tiny amount of fish. All of this was generously “enhanced” with crab sticks—both inside and on top.

It was terrible. To be fair, they only charged me for one, which I appreciate.

Still, that didn’t do anything to improve my impression of the visit.

They supposedly open at 11am but when I arrived at 11:30am the door was locked. So I called multiple times and nobody answered my call. Won’t be trying this place again.

The chicken teriyaki bento box! Rice, grilled teriyaki chicken, soup, salad, veggies. Can't beat it. It's a quiet setting indoors for lunch.
