We were unfamiliar with The Chop Shop and we were just stopping at the Shell station to grab a snack on our way to an appt and boy were we SURPRISED!!! The Chop Shop was there and smelling great! We spoke with the beautiful queen doing the cooking who was just wonderful. But let's get to the food... we got a chicken salad sandwich and Brunswick stew and hush puppies and OMG is was delicious!!! My hubby said his Brunswick stew was the BEST HE'S EVER EVEN HAD!!!! We accidentally found this place but we'll be INTENTIONALLY going back!!! YUM!!!
I had the pork sandwich with coleslaw and Mac n’ cheese. Outstanding!!!!! Everything was hot and delicious. Had to wait a little longer for fresh hush puppies…heck yes!!! 😍

i was pleasantly surprised seeing this spot when walking into the gas station for my typical snack run. the smell was tantalizing, and i quickly found myself eyeing the menu board. i got the pulled pork sandwich, banana pudding, and sweet tea— everything was delicious!! patty/patti took my order, and she was very personable and kind, and i will definitely be back! i’m so glad i found this spot!!

My wife and I had Brisket at the Chop Shop this evening and had a great experience. Really good food and excellent service. Both ladies at the counter were very pleasant and accommodating. Even though the inside seating is limited and in the back of a gas station convenience store; it was very clean and comfortable. We will definitely be back!

Other reviews convinced me to make the trek from my hotel and it did not disappoint! Totally agree with other the pulled pork is a must, fabulous hush puppies too. Of course I had to try the deviled eggs and banana puddin’ 😋
If you’re in the Raleigh area please stop by it’s way better than any chain place. ❤️
Fantastic BBQ! We got the Hog and Pig packs to feed 11 people. Excellent value and everyone loved it. The potato salad, baked beans, deviled eggs, coleslaw and hush puppies were as great as the pulled pork. Excellent service from Jessica as well. It doesn’t look like much on the outside, but the food was spectacular!

Today is July 4th. After ordering and paying online for food at Byrd’s BBQ on Cheek Rd, and driving 30 minutes to get there, I was not happy when I arrived to discover they were closed. Another lady was there and said she had called yesterday and they said they would be open the 4th. She was very upset, too, especially after having driven 45 minutes to get there. So I searched for another BBQ restaurant and found Chop Shop BBQ was open and I am so glad I did! The pulled pork and smoked chicken was delicious as were the cowboy beans, potato salad, slaw and hush puppies. Don’t let the outside of the building keep you from eating some delicious food. I highly recommend this place and encourage you to give it a try.
