Service is horrendous you will wait at least 15 minutes for the waiter to come and actually give you a menu. you will wait 30 minutes at least for your food ...and the servers are unprofessional. The food is very bland with little seasoning hardly any flavor don't be deceived by the pictures and everything is overpriced. There are far more better options and authentic Mexican restaurants. this place is a joke!

The worst restaurant with undercooked food, canned tomato paste as the salsa, no other salsas, can't count 3 tacos in a order, even if you were drunk you couldn't eat here. Gag worthy. Not Mexican, trash can food! Go to taco bell you will be better off and the staff is beyond rude!

I've eaten here a couple of times now but have only sat down to eat once. I really enjoyed the street tacos, specifically the carnitas -I'm a s***** for those. They were really good and came with rice and beans. The inside is decorated really nice, it's lively and seems to be a really popular spot on the strip, especially on the weekends. They have drink specials, which were pretty nice. Our waiter was just okay, not very friendly but not rude either. Overall, a good experience and I'd come back.

Best tacos in town! As a result, this place is PACKED, 7 days a week. This is my go-to for tacos y burritos.

If I could give this -100 stars I would. I've never in my life had such a horrendous customer service experience. We sat down around 8:00 and waited around for a server to come for 45 min while everyone around us was getting served. We had to go inside twice and ask for a waiter to come help us while the waiters around us kept walking past us and ignoring our presence. When we finally ordered it took about 30 min for our food to come so we finally asked for them manager who didn't seem to give a s*** about our concerns. To top it all off, our waitress ran one of our cards 3 times and claimed it was "declined" when a clear charge showed up in the account. We asked for the manager AGAIN about this issue who never showed up. At this point we just left because it wasn't even worth more of our time. Absolutely F*** this place I am baffled with this experience.

There are very few places that i frequent regularly. Coco Bongo is one of them. The food is always hot and amazing. The margs are the best in Raleigh and the atmosphere is exciting and lively. Feels like i'm actually in Mexico. Would definitely recommend for a dinner or lunch with family and friends.

This place is terrible for how busy it is. The food is so bland. The service is extremely slow. College kids need to stop eating here when there are soo many better mexican restaurants with better food. Good tacos at any taco truck are the same price but actually good. I don't understand why college kids love this place so much.

I made a reservation for here and the man on the phone confirmed it since it was new year's eve and a big party of 8 people. We come into the place and the young girl hostess doesn't even look our way and is too busy on her phone. I o up and say that I have a reservation. She doesn't check anything and seats us right next to a family and we're at a table meant for 5 people...so we're crammed. We see a bigger table that we can push together and no one is over there so we decide to ask if we can move. When she walks by us next my friend says excuse me ma'am and she ignored us. Next time she walked by my friend said the same thing but louder and again ignored us so we went up to her and she still tried to ignore us. We asked if we could move and she said yeah whatever. The waiters were nice but this hostess was quite frankly a b***** Not someone you want at the front. She was rude, ignored us, and didn't even try to act nice.

Coco bongo has overcharged me at least 3 times despite tipping 20%. I have also had multiple friends who have noticed this restaurant adding on a couple of dollars to their bills after we've left. Gross and unethical. The food and drinks are mid and the service is meh. Definitely not worth it when waiters are adding a few extra dollars to their already hefty (and undeserved) tip.

I went here recently for a margarita and let me tell you. I've never really complained about a drink being too strong but it seems like I've met my match. I had one. ONE. I have never experienced the contortion of time to this extent before. Simultaneously the longest and shortest duration spent at a restaurant. My body beckoned me back to reality but my mind said no. I might have been physically at coco bongo but my mind was thrown into a void of everlasting stupor, untethered by the weight of reality, floating forever into infinity, possibly never to be seen again. Needless to say, the $4.50 margs are worth it. Highly recommend.

Kinda disappointed. We expected way more flavor to the food. No salt or pepper even. Staff was friendly. Restaurant was clean and busy. I expected better taste being so close to the university. Hopefully it was just a bad day.

Very bad service and the staff was racist. We were two asian people who went there for dinner today. The server, a lady, was rude right from the start. I also noticed a stark difference between how the server was behaving with us and the way she was behaving with the white families sitting behind and in front of us. She was ignoring us and was abrupt and rude when she did speak to us. In comparison she was super sweet to the white people sitting around us. This is so disheartening. Don't we deserve to go out on a Friday night without being disrespected and returning with such a bad aftertaste? Never going back here.

I came here on tuesday for the 99 cent tacos (very good deal everyone should try). however; the tacos were bland with very little seasoning. Disappointing for a mexican restaurant. The guacamole tasted like straight avocado mashed up. No salt and pepper, missing the citrus aspect of real guacamole. Not only was the food mediocre, the service was even worse. The food was improperly made 2 times. I asked for hard shell and received soft shell. My friend received chicken instead of beef. The food took abnormally long to come out and the server was extremely out of it. He would never hear us call for him or anything. However, their drinks are quite good.

This place is just killer. The service is fast, friendly, and accommodating, and encourages me to come back time after time. They have so much on the menu, there's bound to be something you'll love to eat. Very good Mexican cuisine! Horchata and taco tuesdays are something you simply must experience. If you're thinking about what to eat tonight, you can't go wrong with Coco Bongo.
