Busy day for us, i had an hour to take my wife somewhere nice for an early dinner. We arrived around 530pm (early dinner time), it felt like I was walking on the sun! It's a very dark empty restaurant with the HEAT cranked to 100 degrees! The air was so thick and hot i instantly got nausea. The Lady at the front desk (pouring sweat) was extremely nice! I feel like this could be a nice place if someone put a little love and air conditioning into it. Food was about the same quality and portions you would get from the mall food court (no hate, big fan lol). Only DOUBLE THE PRICE, even higher if you choose to dine in (on the sun). We got the food to go because of the heat. I had to sit in the car while we waited, due to heat . This was our first and probably last time here. Another concern... all the meat is raw... in a room over 100 degrees... do with that what you will.

This place on Capital Blvd Raleigh has fallen off. They used have a male cooking . He was very clean and efficient. Rice was delectable. But this last visit was not even mediocre. My and son rice was on the hard side. I watched the young lady cook my food and the grill was not clean . She put my food on spot on the grill that was not a smooth clean surface . I watched her the entire time. My son's Noodles were cooked too hard. My food basically looked dirty and it tasted dirty. The waitress who was very nice went to get the manager who basically stood me down that they clean the grill and was going back and forth with me. At this point I was pissed . I offered to pay any way because I didn't come to get a free meal. I just wanted a good meal. But this lady was in my face . I told her I can pay and that I wouldn't be coming back here again.

The food was really good and reasonably priced for how much food it was. I got the 2 bowls and it was a lot more than I could eat. Luckily they have to go boxes lol.

This place is not what they use to be. You have to pay for literally everything. It’s not buffet anymore, have to pay for each bowl you get and they’re stingy with everything! The food was good but I feel like I was mislead with the prices

Pretty decent place. Unfortunately the bowls are a little small so I look like a glutton filling my bowl till I look like a juggler in a circus.

Ok.
So the people complaining about paying for a bowl and then having to pay for it again at take out aren’t understanding the business.

They clearly state this around the raw meat/veggies bar.

But they also allow you to pay per pound and eat it at the table.

They make you pay for take out to prevent people from coming in there and only getting the most expensive items for $25 and taking them with you.

They are a business. They aren’t going to lose money because four shenanigans.

Just get the take out option and eat it there. You’ll “probably” spend less that way. And you can take it with you.

They have this policy because jerks like us try and take advantage of it.
Don’t blame the restaurant.

Having said this, the food is just so so and I don’t really recommend. However, if you use your brain, you can grasp the concept.

Bottom line is that the concept is dumb. But it’s not their fault.
The business probably shouldn’t exist if you have to do all of this smoke and mirrors bs to not get taken advantage of.

It's not as good as other Mongolian places. The servers are slightly neglectful. No appetizers or sesame bread. Since you prep your own food it's as good or bad as you make it to be. No unlimited bowl option, you can get 1 bowl or 2.

I used to love this place. Me and bestie started at the Cary, NC location in 2005. When they were an all You can eat type of place, plenty of seasoning options and the cooks weren't in a rush. It's evolved into this place here where you pay per bowl (they aren't very large bowls). Fresh veggies and meat cook down with heat, so in the end, one bowl is lacking. Secondly, if you have anything left over on you plate that's cooked and you've eaten off of, they weight it and you pay by weight in addition to the bowl you've paid for...if you want to take leftovers. I get the premise but... Nuts!! Sad to cut this place out of my favorite places to visit when I go back home.
