Just gross
I found this place for July 4th BBQ lunch. It didn’t disappoint me. Their beef brisket is the best. Very tender and tasty. Sauce is perfect. Baked bean tastes great. Very large covered outdoor picnic eating area. Great service and nice people. If there’s anything that needs to improve, the brussel spruces are a little dry and spicy. But overall, great experience. Will come back for sure
This place rocks!! I’m fortunate they aren’t located in Holly Springs, or else they would have all of my money
The Big Dampf sandwich is worth it. Great BBQ.
As a native Texan, I can say that this was probably the first BBQ I've had since moving to the triangle area that actually could be considered 'Texas' style.
Well seasoned brisket, pork ribs, and sausage (Texas Trinity) and a beef rib as well. Quality beef, slow smoked, with pickles, onions, white bread, and a long line of first-come, first-served BBQ fans.
They also have a home made Texas-style sauce that actually tastes correct and isn't some horrific corn syrup concoction that most places have.
This spot has come a long way in the last couple years after their Texas tour and is worth a stop for anyone looking to see how Texas does it.
Having lived in San Antonio for 11 years, I know Texas BBQ when I'm eating it. I had Beef ribs and my wife had brisket. The flavor of both meats brought back some happy memories. The portions are huge and a word about the sides, 1 can fill 2 people. I left with a most wonderful food high. If this place was closer to home, we'd be there all the time.
I never do reviews; they were that good. This is legit BBQ, smoked on Primitive Pits and Cen Tex smokers, true stick burners. Simple ingredients, and a fire. And they do it perfectly to offer the standard Texas showing of BBQ staples. The brisket is truly phenomenal, among the best I’ve had. (If I’m honest, better than the Franklin BBQ I had). But they also add their own flavor to the sides especially. I loved it and will be back!
Get the Mac and pudding. It's worth it.
Great customer service, great set up and some awesome BBQ. I will be back to try more.
I’ve eaten at Dampf several times and it’s always been amazing. Today I had the privilege of attending one of Nick’s bbq classes, where not only did we eat amazing food but we learned a lot too. Nick is as gracious an educator as he is a host at his bbq place.

VERY long wait. Went in a Saturday and waited at least 45 mins to an hour. $90 for a pound of brisket( not even sure we received the full pound portion), one gyro, one slaw and one quart of potato salad. Didn’t even serve a family of 4 for lunch. $90 for a lunch?? Seriously???? Way too expensive for the amount of food. The gyro hardly had any meat on it. Disappointing.
Tasty BBQ brisket with awesome BBQ sauce. Unfortunately at 330 pm on Saturday 85% of the food is sold out. That's a little frustrating. $15 sandwiches have about 1/3 lb meat and some pickles and come with a side. The bread got super soggy fast. Cole slaw is average, runny. Go for the meat. It's cold out but there are plenty of benches if you want to eat outside. There is also a porter potty with a hand wash station. Plenty of gravel parking in the back, the place is behind a farm so not marked well on the quiet street.

We came down for their thanksgiving feast. The food was incredible. Everything was spiced perfectly. The brisket was awesome, along with the sides. The thing that stuck with me though: They were so nice. They really seemed grateful for our business. It showed that they cared in the food. It'll be a tradition for sure. I wish I lived closer so I could try more of the menu. I'm thankful for finding this place.
