Lexi was an amazing bartender and made the experience one of a kind. The food was great The dumplings, green beans, and shrimp was out of this world. Would highly recommend this place, especially for all of the places that are in Raleigh.

Truly enjoyed my evening at Five Star as it is one of my favorite restaurants when I visit Raleigh. Food is always top notch as is the service.

However, this evening my experience was soured as the bartender/server Lexie thought it was appropriate to make my party participate in a humiliation ritual of bringing us shots of water as if another patron was treating my party to drinks. Honestly would have appreciated if Lexie did not participate as I did not want to participate in this display either. Next time please refrain from forcing patrons to participate in such childish displays while spending money at your establishment.

I love 5 star and thus rate it five stars. They can do gluten free dishes and their food is extremely good. Typically we get takeout but went with a couple of people on a recent Thursday night. Staff were attentive and overall service was good. The music was good but just somewhat loud, so it was hard to hold conversations.

The crispy sesame beef is excellent! 4 stars on the strength of the main entrees alone. Prices are a tiny bit steep but portions are generous.

I'd have to say, though, that not everything else measured up. The scallion pancakes didn't appear to be laminated at all and came out dense and chewy, which for all I know is a valid way to make them, but it's a far cry from the crispy layered version you can get elsewhere. My rice was also mushy, but this may have been a fluke.

Ok, just got food ten minutes ago and I’m immediately here to warn all of you. We’re going with 2/5 because the dumplings were edible and the low mein wasn’t bad, but everything else was remarkably bad. The reviews about the General TSO chicken are wrong, it’s quite terrible. Both the General Tso and Sesame chicken were among the driest heaps of chicken I’ve ever had. Think the turkey on National Lampoons Christmas Vacation. I can only imagine they recooked boneless wings from BWW to achieve this. The flavor is non-existent in both chicken dishes and the fried rice. It’s actually impressive they got a slight brown color in the rice with none of the flavor of the soy or butter. Like getting a 0 on an SAT is more difficult than passing, it has to be harder to not flavor fried rice than flavoring it. Impressive. The Sesame Chicken only tastes like the dusting of the sesame seeds poured on top. Maybe that’s the right way and literally every other restaurant on the planet is wrong. The General tso sauce must be all of the soy sauce that didnt make it into the fried rice without the peppers, rice vinegar, sesame oil, scallions, or anything else anyone has ever used in General tso. But yea the dumplings and lo mein get you a single star back.

I really, truly enjoy the food and have had great previous experiences but the way we were treated on the night of my daughter's graduation really left me, and her, upset. We made reservations six months prior, visited for a cocktail and appetizer three days prior, so you knew we were coming and we even updated your with the exact numbers and still on the night of our dinner we waited an additional 45 minutes beyond our reservation time, were sat at separate tables and made our experience sad. In addition, the larger private room you had that would have perfectly accommodated us you gave to a party of six. It will be hard for us to choose to come back.

Crispy beef is top notch.. try to get Frances as your server. She’s the bomb.

We went there as a group and we shared a bunch of appetizers and entrees. Everything tasted fresh and the dishes were abundant. We had the crab rangoon, dumplings, beef and broccoli, general Tao's chicken, chicken fried rice and vegetable lo-mein. They also have a nice selection of drinks and desserts. Our server was very attentive and provided good recommendations. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and would come back again.

We love this place! Great food and service! Calamari and lettuce wraps are great starters.
