Dinner was tasty, and the atmosphere was very nice — but unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired. The poor service overshadowed the experience.
We sat at the bar, where our bartender was new but very friendly. She made a couple of mistakes on our order, which happens — not a big deal. What was disappointing, however, was how the more experienced staff member working with her handled things. She made it painfully obvious that she was frustrated that our order was wrong- sighing, rolling her eyes, and generally acting annoyed.
By the time my husband’s meal came out, my daughter and I had finished our meals before his corrected dish even arrived. When I asked about the status of his meal earlier to the second lady, no effort was made to check on his food. On top of that, my daughter’s side order of brussel sprouts didn’t arrive until after my husband’s corrected dish came out- she was completely done eating by then.
We didn’t complain or make a scene, but nothing was done to acknowledge the multiple mistakes- no adjustment to the bill, no dessert, nothing. We paid our bill and customary tip because we felt for the bartender.
For a restaurant with food this good, the service and management were a real letdown.

I don't know who puts collards on grits, He'll im hooked to that dish. One of the best shrimp and grits I've had in Raleigh. Great job guys and much success. Chef you deserve a raise.

Great experience! Food was delicious and service was wonderful. I got the southern remix and it was fantastic. The chicken was the perfect mix of crispy and tender. The French toast was delicious. Definitely recommend!

Food came out luke warm! Mind you we received our appetizers after a while wait. When we got the appetizers we had no silverware, napkins, or plates. We asked 3 different times for silverware and we still waited 20 minutes to get it while we just stared at the food. We finally got our main dishes after a looooong wait, the food was cold and the yams were burnt, Mac and cheese was cold, everything was cold. They kept telling us it will be 2 minutes which was actually 20-30 mins! The people seated next to us felt the same, they received their food without silverware. The waiter was also terrible he would walk off and be in the back talking to other co workers for a while before even checking on our food or bringing plates and silverware! The only thing good was the drinks! The manager was sweet and took our feedback kindly. Our first time here and we are from Charlotte! Worst experience and would not recommend!
